The girl with bow & arrow... is protected by the guy with sword in front of her... she's technically facing his back as he's not looking at her. However because of that 'safe area' that he had given her due to not letting enemies getting too close to her... She could in turn launch volleys and volleys of arrows on distant enemies.

Repeat cycle... Guy protects girl; yet girl also protects guy.

.. bah... Romance + Warfare formations... dont really mix too well anyway..

Lyner protects Aurica as she sings her song... He gives his all for her... And when she's ready, releasing the great magic called LOVE! XDDDDD.. something like that. But with swords and bow/arrows instead.

Forgot about phantom inferno, haven't seen the anime though. Ein and Drei are pretty awesome though. Only two gun wielding females come to mind straight away from me and that is Revy (black lagoon) & Seras (hellsing) oh and Roberta (black lagoon) how could I almost forget a gunwielding maid ;p

Regarding girls with guns or swords, yesterday, I played some WET, where the protagonist uses both weapons and she kicks so much ass. From cutting arms to blowing heads and, she even has time to go into a killing rage when blood gets into her eyes. It's not even near to being one of my favorite characters, but it's a good example of how you can mix both types and get it right.

AND YES. Edge and Riemi are more recent versions of that archetype. Completely forgot about them coz, at the rate things are going with my Star Ocean game, I think some sort of sad, bittersweet ending is gonna come up so I had the game on hold.. XDDDD

Hm Squall ain't that bad, he was only sissy as a kid (cry, cry), then he grew up to be emo, hit puberty saved and protected Rinoa and they ended up together in the end. Cloud was Emo and couldn't even save Aerith, which of course lead to more emoness.

Are you forgetting about the 7 other guys who were looking to the other side while she was killed? I'm not criticizing them or anything, since she needed to learn when to shut up, but it's unfair to claim that Cloud was the only one who didn't mind watching her being slayed.


Lightning is HAWT and if Squall saw how awesome her gunblade is, he would become another Tidus, crying into oblivion.

Well to be fair, characters are bound to whatever the writer chooses to portray.

I was only making a comparison between protagonists, including Advent Children in my comparison. Neither Squall or Cloud could be called 'sissies', but I found Squall to be the character that matured the most during his journey vs Cloud which happens to be the more popular protagonist among FF fans. Cloud still doubted himself after the events of FFVII and was still reluctant to use his power. Squall may have been apathetic to begin with, but understood his responsibilities far sooner, used his power and brought everything to a close far sooner than Cloud did in his story. Anyway my point is Cloud is more conflicted personality wise than Squall, the end (And having a part of Zack in him shouldn't cause him to be emo).

FFVII was a total NTR story. I mean come on! Think about it from Cloud's point of view. How did he ever know that Aerith didn't like him just because he had Zack in him? What a low blow.

Ahhh.. But then again..

There are some who said that Squall DIED in FFVIII.
Its just that most of us played through the game without fully understanding it... Some serious mindfuck if i could say so...

Japanese Festivals.

I met a person on the internet one day. Was it an argument about drums? A discussion about drumming? Who can remember. Lost in the fogs of memory I guess. 2 years I loved him. Him, her? I don't even know the gender. Not a name, not a country, not a picture. Was he merely a figment of my imagination? I can't know. But I fear I will be forever waiting like Hikoboshi, always raining on out tanabata. Our time of promised meeting.

Abstract, but I don't feel like explaining.

Hm don't know what to say since it's out of context. Pretty random is all I can come up with.


He obviously didn't die, these aren't even theories considering it's clearly confirmed in the game he isn't dead and if you were to ask the writer of the story they'd confirm it. I'm surprised ppl even come up with this stuff for games that aren't open ended, sure fanfiction, but calling this a 'theory' is just wrong.

I haven't played FFVIII, I also don't know anything about japanese festivals, sigh.

I've been to my local mall when they celebrated 'Blossomming of the Sakura trees in Japan'... and had something.. kinda like a Japanese-culture-fair.. kinda thing... From sweets to ice cream to sake... .. and oh god does the mall smell like sushi 3 days after the week long affair...

Kinda fun... Especially seeing a real life Japanese woman in kimono selling import sake from Japan...
Food tasting... And stuffs... Seriously.. All i pretty much did during that fair was pamper my tastebuds... XDDDD
