Well... maybe... There are some people who would buy a hard copy for collection purposes despite having bought a digital copy... I doubt collectors would buy a digital copy if they could get a hard copy of the new games... and since they're collectors they'd likely buy the hard copy anyways... customs really is annoying... but at least a couple H-games don't warrant a broker

Read the interview they give an answer to why. Shuffle! would have been the obvious choice to start with though. In any case using da capo as the base to whether it'll be viable to do hard-copies is a mistake. I would love to be proven wrong though, get buying ;p lol

The interview was merely rationalization.  As you said, Shuffle would have made more sense, the shuffle franchise is more popular... but well... it does make sense since they can't sell D.C. 2 as hard copy without selling D.C. first... except I don't like D.C. that much... I really wish more of the shuffle stuff would be translated...

damnit when will they get around to Shuffle Essence...

Mana

When Shuffle! gets enough sales to satisfy Navel.

sazabi

i don't imagine that will be any time soon then

Circus seems to really want to "break" Da Capo to English audiences or something it seems. They should have chosen Da Capo 2 for the first boxed release...probably everybody who'd want the first one has bought it, plus it's just not that great.

Also if Shuffle! is MG's best seller and Navel still wouldn't ok it, well Navel are just dicks. Also other than wanting something that isn't DC I don't get why everybody wants to see more of their stuff, Shuffle! felt at least as wooden and cliche as DC1 and also their characters have the most blatantly, off-puttingly obvious face-recycling ever.

Mana

You've never seen that Da Capo GIF that has been around for a few years, but I agree that Nishimata always uses the same faces.

mahou

Yep i've never been fussed on Shuffle! or navel's stuff in general, but that's apparently what sells. Overdrive stuff is better, also who holds the rights to the Green Green series now? I would think that would sell well, even has the anime they can use to market it.

I only played Edelweiss long enough to determine the translation sucked, but Kira Kira was pretty great - I remember when I was still getting into music and was in my own "early punk" phase where I thought the Sex Pistols were the best thing ever lol

I'll actually buy Edelweiss when the new translation is finished though, no use getting it before then...I hope they'll put it on sale then too  :P

I loved Shuffle... the anime... the game was just... well... I like the anime.  At very least I like Shuffle over D.C. 1, and objectively I think it's a bit better, D.C. 2 is another story though.  But then again... it's not like I've seen much of Shuffle other than the main game... but it does look enticing... that sister girl... person... ya.

I've been putting off other VNs before I finish Da Capo (I started it many months ago), so that it isn't another incomplete title on my backlog, but there were only 2 routes that didn't bore me to death 90% of the time (Nasu, I forgive you!) and even those could've been better. In comparison, it was a lot easier to go through Shuffle, even though it's no master piece.

Don't give up hope... D.C. 2 gets better.... =-="

Actually it gets worse, b/c you should have figured out all if not most of the 'mysteries' after a couple of routes, then the rest just seem to drag on. The moe is what got me through, barely. It starts strong, but has a weak finish. Still love Nanaka though <3
