I tried Devil Survivor since I'm a nascent SMT fanboy but I ended up stalling around Day 3. Not due to challenge but just lack of interest. That was the last DS game I played.

Seriously? I couldn't gather enough interest in the battle system. I guess I was never a huge fan of Monster Rancher. Besides, how the fuck are you supposed to level and beat the first boss? You can't. You have to have skill. I hate skill.

Devil Survivor on the other hand was pretty nice. After you get the holy skills you can pretty much brute force your way through the game without much problems. The amount of different endings was also pretty neat.

Oh, it's just after that scene that it starts getting better.

Talking about Devil Survivor, I've to pick it up again.

I believe it's a steam game, which means installing DRM ridden malware to play games.

Steam's just one download service it's on - the game has no copy protection inherent in it, just Steam itself (and only if purchased on Steam). Also unless you're just averse to buying games in general or digital purchasing specifically, having a bug up your ass about Steam seems a few years behind the times.
