thanks i wanted to avoid having to play through again... i dont know this game kinda pissed me off the last chapter wanted me to throw my laptop out the window and then burn it. if this game aimed to get people emotional about non real characters then kudos to them i T_T cause that game had really graphic pictures at the worst moments.

It seems that there are another two scenes where your choices make a difference, I'll just quote Anon:

As far as the character choices go, the only scenes that change other than the letters are the aircraft carrier scene the night before Sadogashima and the scene where he leaves his comms on while talking to Sumika.

So how does this game compare to the origional muv luv?

I haven't played neither of them, but Muv-Luv only got translated thanks to Alternative and the fact that you need a lot of stuff from the original title to get what's going on.

There is also a fandisc that follows Takeru after Alternative's events, but since it goes back to a less serious tone like Extra, Ixrec won't touch it and, probably, no one else will do it.

Oh, and it's also the number one title on Erogamescape. Take that as you will.

How it compares, Muv-Luv is your average High school drama love story, while alternative is a downpour of reocurring hatred for the game. but be warned there is very gory scenes much worse than devi-dead (lol eating corpses is funny to me now the way they portray it) and has tragedy seems to pile on like a snowball. worth playing if your a fan of serious visual novels like tsukihime, fate stay night, etc. cause this game has near no sexual content.

Don't forget to add that Alternative was to be released with Extra/Unlimited, and so, it's story wasn't written as the typical sequel to milk the franchise, but as a real third part to the story.

Well, there are the Chronicles titles that explore what happens after Unlimited's ending and some stuff that happens before Alternative. I also don't know what they want to do with Total Eclipse or if it will just stay as a series of light novels and manga.

Nah, I just meant Age will probably never get up and do a proper followup for what happens after Alternative.  Though apparently they have plans.

Alternative's ending is considered the ending of alternative to be the closing curtain for Takeru and that they are gonna focus on someone else for a change. And what Yuuko said is basically what is going to happen so there isnt much of a follow up necessary, basically the whole game is Takeru on a power trip just to make himself feel better O_o.

read previous posts, choices in the game are psuedo choices they only affect what is read at different points of the game but does not effect the ending, there is one ending.
