Microsoft Security Essentials + Malwarebytes antimalware will cover you in most cases. Best of all, it's all free.

my laptop don't have any running security progs. since the start of the year(I have on demand scanners though)
and yeah I don't have any virus when I scanned a few days ago, kinda disappointed lol

As long as you're doing halfway normal stuff and aint lurking on the shadiest sites around, you'll do fine with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Well, I haven't gotten a virus that Malwarebytes has picked up. I guess I haunt safe sites.

I don't see the need for all the drama. Their stuff is shared on other places out of the scanlators' control and they can't do anything about it.
