Thanks Kureha. Apparently Desudesu had this problem with the caviar green. Funny coincidence:

never buy WD Caviar Green and use it as your desktop's boot HDD. I'm using one and boy, am I regretting my decision right now. I get this annoying random hangup when I save images on firefox, and it's even worse when I use dta to download a batch of files (it can't handle multiple simultaneous file writes well or something, idk). Can't wait to have the desktop reformatted and boot HDD replaced tomorrow :<

Anyway. It's just ryuutama's blog only gives DF or FS to leechers. Not that I have any right to complain I guess, but I don't like how easy downloads are for donors only. meh

Hmmn, I've deployed a few Caviar Greens as boot drives with no problems. Namely the 800/808gb version and the 1TB version. You just need to tweak the power settings so they don't throttle down as agressively. For the newegg cart I chose a Caviar Black SATAIII so you will have no problems at all.

Ryuutama hasn't been very active recently so I haven't really noticed.

So anyone know what the problem would be if a computer turns off and on in a cycle all the time?

Apparently the GPU turns off and on rapidly or something.

The only bad things I can think of would start with the PSU, and then your harddrives, and then the fans.

I also suggested the PSU but he said that wasn't it.

Oh new update. Apparently a stick of RAM was burnt out. Dunno how that affects anything.

Oh, you meant the computer is turning on and off? I thought you were asking what would be damaged.

Reseat the CPU, remember to reapply thermal paste. Clear the BIOS via the jumper. While you're at it reseat ram/gpu and clean off the dust. If the heatsink on the chipset is loose, reapply thermal paste for that too.

It's going to be likely that the Motherboard needs to be RMAed

Oh well, that he removed a burnt out stick of RAM and apparently it started working again. I'll suggest those things to him anyway. But what's RMAed?

Coughing my lungs, or at least parts of it, out, accompanied by a headache while coughing...
So far to "how my day went", although I'm awake for merely half an hour or so up to now.

As to speakers... I don't know, have the same speakers for about 10 years or so and still not wanting to change, so can't help you there.
