Id say the story certainly slow especially on the First volume. But the following volumes is quite good.

Most of these novels where the protagonist reincarnates as a baby has a slow "genius baby" phase. I believe that's commonplace.

I believe he's talking about the girl the protagonist tries to save, fails, and then she falls for the guy with similar name thinking that's the protagonist. Well, Van didn't like her like that I guess, so maybe it isn't NTR.
