Yeah, is Kenkou Cross the one who design Alice? I hope they would put more of his work on the next chapter for consistent art.

Anybody tried this game yet?... Cant get it to work for me...

Im stuck at the extraction stage... It says file 001 is a sudden end of archive.

I was able to extract and play fine from the links that were posted. Try using 7-zip if you aren't already. If you still have a problem, i can try uploading a single rar for you instead.

Edit : Went ahead and was able to upload an archive anyways, just incase something happens. Mirror added to first post...sadly i forgot the patch though so that is still needed from the mediafire link.

Been playing this past couple days and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much i'm enjoying regardless of it's simplicity (story & gameplay). Love Alice <3

Indeed if only it was.

Enjoyed the story - really reminded me of the Superior and Superior Cross mangas.  Of course, the idea of the hero traveling with his enemy/target is nothing new, but still, Alice is a great character.  I love the fact she's half snake, so you can't mistake her for a human unless she's in human form (which she hates doing).  I just wish there was a bit more of an RPG element to it.

I hope Rogue translates the second one.  I'd like to see the end of the story.

Yeah, Rogue Translations is doing the second one when it comes out in Japan (September I heard).  Right now he's working on some other heavy rape game (Thief and Sword) until the second chapter is out.  Here's the source if anybody was curious:

I'm addicted to this simple game.. story is interesting.  Want to know how it is going to end.

They have the monster girls for the 2nd chapter updated, I see that Setouchi guy still having his shares of derp looking random encounter monsters.

Well for those trying to beat the game in hard difficulty i strongly suggest on some battles using cheat engine (search 4b*1), otherwise you might fight the same monsters 20+ times and still lose. (for the really lazy its the same thing for SP)
Some battles are quite annoying since it's just luck to either meet the requirements to win or simply because the monster "decides" to 1hit kill you on the 2nd or 3rd turn.
Regarding the game the story is quite fun but the battles are lacking in interest. You'll just use the same strategy most of the time.
Still i'm waiting for the next one to see how the story goes on.

So a trainer is suggested? My systems are all x64 including server and netbook.

any point to trying hard mode? unlock anything?

I first used it in a battle where i spent 20min without ever getting a lucky break.
Most of the time in 3-4 repeats you get the job done, and redoing the battle also helps getting all the skills so no problem there,  but that particular one was horrible since the margin of error is very narrow.
That monster in particular is supposed to be that hard but the conditions that we have to meet to actually reach the checkpoint are just too strict. And even if we get to the checkpoint (which i usually got at very low hp) the guy still gets one last shot at you, and to me that always resulted in death.
My perception is that besides that one only 2-3 more battles should be impossible enough to actually need CE, and one of them is still impossible even with CE by game design.
My advice is to play it normally and you'll know when you get to the first crazy hard battle.
Also don't forget that even with CE you can lose. Some attack just don't end till the hp is drained to 0, so freezing hp will just make you watch the same attack over and over.

Edit:
From what i've read from the walkthrough hard mode unlocks some cg's/scenes that otherwise would left out on the normal gameplay.

This is surprisingly good game. I expected it to be average at best. Alice and Granberia are best among heroines but certain someone is very suspicious.
Does anybody know when second part will be released?

Well since it was released earlier this year in Japan i think its gonna be at least another year or two.

Monmusu 2 comes out sometime this fall (it's being beta tested right now)
and 3 comes out 'early next year'

So if japanese version will comes out this fall then translation hopefully should be ready 'early next year'. Regardless I hope that second part will be at least as good as first.

Any idea how long the plotline will be? As in is it confirmed to be a triology, or will it be even longer and end up milked to hell?

I say just wait and we shall see. Besides who knows things can change with the plot length due to external forces.

Its true that nothing is certain, but Torotoro Resistance went on record sayng that there's only going to be 3 parts.  I hear that the game sold a lot better than they predicted, so its is possible it'll become a neverending series, but it probably won't come to that.  That's just my intuition though.

Let's hope this doesn't get milked into oblivion. Too many good games have a tendency to sell too well, and get endless sequels which drag the memories of original goodness through the mud.

The second chapter is out. The translator said that he might fininsh it to november he already translated the trial.

Full second chapter is out? I thought it was only trial version.

That was faster then i expected.

Most experienced indie game authors release trial/demo version only when full game is also available, due to marketing reasons (specifically people will impulse buy the game if they like the demo, but they won't remember the game next week).

Because not everyone is the same and people fail to realize that.

There are different creators, with different marketing strategies. I can only vouch for the Western indie games, as I follow that scene somewhat closely, and pretty much every successful developer will tell you that the best way to do a demo for a small indie project, is a demo when your game is available. When you don't have the marketing budget of an AAA title, you can't afford ads, or big reviews in gaming press or other venues.

It is entirely possible that Japanese indie market that serves a very limited kind of audience, such as adult games, functions in a different way with less impulse buys and more of planned purchases. In this case, a well done demo during development on a big event may be a good way to get publicity.

Downloaded this game earlier and i'm loving though i'm stuck now.

I got to the kraken boss and when she goes to use the aqua pentagram, a little screen pops up that says: "Invalid first byte of EBML ID:00"

A google search for it indicates it's a codec error of some sorts, ie the media type is not recognized I think... Try installing/reinstalling latest cccp codec pack or Haali splitter.

That fixed it.  Thank you for the help.
