Great art but I thought the story was somewhat rushed. Also the game felt like it was lacking, I mean come on you got a good number of princesses but...

And sure the extra ending is there to just give you a feel that there will be a sequel. Though I'm not sure if there is one.
I agree with Zyibis a bit though, they could have worked on the finer details of the story a bit more. And also, I liked this game cause of the card battle, but it could have been made a bit more complicated with more options or something =).

The resemblence to Fate Stay Night.. Is just too.. uhhh.. uggh.. just too much.
But.. Still.. Good story in here i guess. Could be made better.. the 'action scenes' do leave me with 'manly tears' at times.. Well.. not really tears.. but close to it.

Well.. It did affect if 'her real identity' was told or not.. You know?.. That 'unknown final princess'...
If you paired up with some other girl, her identity is still a secret.. Well.. not really.. but i specifically remember nothing being said about who she was. And im not sure.. And i think it did affected the ending CG as well...

horrible storyline i mean it came down to feeling like a fate/stay modification i mean all princess going for the final goal like the servants did and mid story the whle war goes down the shitter. also cross dressing princess who is supposedly the king *cough* Arturia from fate/stay -_-. the evil villan has a body stealing technique cough * mato family *cough* >_>
We all know that Fate/stay night and Tsukihime were the first written stories ever. Can we move along now?

When you watch/read/play something while analyzing everything without taking things by their face value, it's really hard to not find something predictable or that's been used over and over again in all kinds of media.
And the analysis should at least be based on the game in question's own merit not in comparison to something obviously superior.
Unless something is a complete carbon copy or obviously derivative that's when you bring the comparisons in. Princess Waltz lacked character development and nothing really stood out, mediocre is mediocre. Moving on. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy what it had to offer though, it was something to do when there was nothing better.
Even if Princess Waltz does have similarities to Fate/Stay Night that are really hard to ignore, I think it works because it's light hearted turn-your-brain-off type entertainment while Fate/Stay Night is more "heavy". Fate Stay/Night as a whole is objectively better but Princess Waltz is only really imitating Fate/Stay Night in a superficial sense anyway.
