Kureha

This is the ReadMe thread.
The thread is to be used regarding the slightly more technical questions of this board.
Complaining outside of the "Complain Section" will result in full account deletion.

Kureha understands that there are complaints that there are ads when exiting the forum.
It was a compromise implemented so that there are no ads on the forum itself. Hosting, hardware, domain, heck even the routing and internet isn't free. The exit ads don't even begin to remotely cover costs.

Kureha has also not gone out of the way to implement anything other than the basic script provided by linkvertise. K1 was migrated to linkvertise after adfly got bought out and folded into linkvertise.
There is a single outgoing linkvertise ad when you click on a link that exits the forum, if you don't click the link then the ad isn't inserted, anything else other than the 1st linkvertise ad which should say Kureha some where is not affiliated with Kureha or K1.
Meaning any other links after the first one is usually inserted by the poster. Kureha has suggested that they be limited to a single ad, but realistically, Kureha has no control over what is posted by users and since Kureha has no means of compensating them for their contributions, their own ads serve as their motivation and compensation for the work they put into their contributions.

There are plenty of remarks and reports saying links are fake, Kureha does read the moderation reports when Kureha gets around to them. However, if Kureha is able download the file and verify that it works, the report is closed.

It is not Kureha's fault that some people are less technically inclined, Kureha is not obligated to spoonfeed everyone everything for free. People are not forced to use K1 for anything, and if there are other places that better suit your habits and needs, you are welcome to use what ever else instead. For the very uninitiated, there's always Vis@ and M@sterC@rd, which is the preferred way so that you can help support the authors that provide you with what ever world and entertainment in the palm of your hand.

Off topic posts in threads are deleted, repeated offenses results in account pruning. There are plenty of designated containment threads or boards on the forum, you don't need to be dumpster firing every thread.

To be frank and honest, K1 is not a charity, it was a hobby project for Kureha to archive VNs. Just somewhere along the way it went off in another direction. Kureha aims to keep it up for as long as Kureha is able to, but it's really just a dead smoldering dumpster fire people drive by to grab a hot potato or something out of.

Who knows, maybe there's some app out there like Tachiyomi out there that just makes the whole experience a streamlined appliance. Kureha isn't too technically inclined and is unable to implement something like that.

Kureha doesn't even understand why people feel the need to jump through all the hoops to create an account on K1 to light fires when they can simply just close the tab and head somewhere more suited to their tastes?

Ted Crilly

Thank you for this new pinned post/thread Kureha.

IMO there has (sadly) been a noticeable increase in the number of... let's be kind and say 'ungrateful' new users on this site in recent months, and who seem to expect everything they download to not only be 100% free, but also downloadable with zero point zero inconvenience, meaning they object and complain to encountering even a single ad site. Because that is somehow seen as a completely intolerable level of inconvenience to them? Or they go one step further and start throwing around baseless, and downright ludicrous accusations about the links, and even this site, being a scam. Which is laughable given that a 'scam' usually involves the disadvantaged party in some way losing out financially. So how you can claim to have been 'scammed' when the downloads are free is truly baffling?! "You scammed me out of a few mouse clicks! I demand justice!!!".

So a post like this is useful in many ways, but especially for new users, not least because others can direct new users to this post when they start complaining about the ad links, and why those links are used here. And they can also be pointed to this extract: "People are not forced to use K1 for anything, and if there are other places that better suit your habits and needs, you are welcome to use what ever else instead", and reminded that the internet is a very big place. And like you say here, nobody is forced to use this site, and if they don't like it for whatever reason, they are entirely free to find another site that better suits their needs, and one that more closely aligns to the level of entitlement they feel they deserve.

Oh and an additional thank you for the time you spend moderating this site, and dealing with the reports. Not sure how many "these links are fake" reports you get, but given the number of posts like that that get posted, I can imagine there are more than a few such reports. And dealing with them likely takes a chunk of time, especially if you check the links for each one.
