You'll assume the role of good ol' Jake Hunter, a chain-smoking, whiskey loving, hard-boiled detective in the crime-ridden city of Aspicio. Charming fellow, even if his characteristics are a bit too clichéd at times. It's important to have a cast of characters you actually care about, and Jake Hunter absolutely nails that aspect. Everyone - from the regular supporting cast – to the one-time appearances have such a down to Earth feel. The localisation team has done an outstanding job, and there's a strong sense of character development.

Jake Hunter is a bit of a rarity on the DS. Dealing with adult themes, it takes itself seriously, but nothing's forced to the point that might evoke a serious case of eye rolling. Sarcastic banter here and there helps, as does a brief moment to simply break up the incredibly bleak world it presents. Aspicio is a gritty, run-down shit hole. Living in the Western Sydney suburbs, I felt right at home! Cases deal with the likes of heavy drug abuse, people smuggling, organised crime shenanigans and naturally, murder.

This one's game style is more of a VN and it's even featured on VNDB.

Again is also there which relates more to Tex Murphy and all those old point and click adventures, so it's not like I always agree with them.
