Obviously nothing is totally original and it's all been done before, and to point out such a thing is so obvious that it adds nothing to any sort of actual discussion. In this case it's a specific enough set of elements that coming from the same company (and possibly the same author) it feels really uninspired and invites comparisons to the predecessor in question that may not be favorable.
Also no SnK was a full translation, the fandisc though was partial. I think they're going to do a full translation if the translators feel up to it, since the partial translation covered actual new story bits (a prequel of sorts) and the untranslated parts were just extended epilogues for the heroines (fanservice).

Very true. When Moogy said that he wasn't going to translate the rest, I was pretty annoyed by the whole deal. If he didn't want to translate the h-scenes, but at least translate everything else, but the h-scenes (they are pretty simple to understand after all ;D). It kind of drove me nuts how the MC managed to have an h-scene with the girl at the beginning of the original game, but my japanese isn't nearly good enough to understand how such an absurdity happened.
I didn't play the fandisc at all because I don't like playing partial translations...it's annoying to play something, and know there's more, RIGHT THERE, but you can't read it. That they're translating it is awesome though, I liked all the heroines pretty much and after all the high tension drama and shizz I want slice of life stuff with them I guess. As an osananajimi-con, happy Natsumi = good stuff.

SnK is pretty linear but the mental flip flops they pull to make the whole thing work is quite a feat.
This game was far more obvious since hints are dropped in his actions rather than the words of the people around him.
Do you guys mean easy like it's easy to figure out what choices to make, or easy as far as how "deep" they might be considered? If you mean the latter, yeah, a balance is nice. I think I'm leaning towards "easy" shit lately though, I haven't been playing most of the more recently translated games besides the two new Da Capo games cuz I guess I'm an easily pleased moefag or something
Also agreed on the mental flip flops in SnK, that game had some crazy twists and turns and it got me super emotionally invested in the story (major MAJOR spoilers in this spoiler btw).
[spoiler]The whole thing with Ririko made me lol. It was like "she was right behind Kenichi all game! Seriously! Look, we're even going to flash back to EVERY MINOR HINT SHE WAS THERE because we know this is crazy as fuck" It didn't really bother me though.Though I did find it amusing they never explained all the women's underwear Kenichi had in his case in the beginning...presumably it was for Ririko, but they never explicitly said that so who knows?[/spoiler]

On the other hand, another game that was crazy... but without a villain is Cross Channel... it started out slowly but after a couple cycles O.O I was totally hooked.
I had my first H-scene in Cross Channel. But still not too interesting. idk, no motivation for it.

I find cross channel pretty enjoyable for the most part just one or two routes that was just not up to par.
