I vaguely remember reading a comment from the current translator of the official English version that volume 9 of the Japanese version was going to be scheduled to release alongside the official English release. Either way everyone that keeps asking for volume 9 it won't be released until after the official English 8th volume releases anyway. I'm not too sure on the accuracy of this information though as I said, I read it way before the translator started doing the offical tl.

"Sam just posted on the JNC forum that the series hasn't been cancelled and vol 9 has been delayed due to un-forseen reasons.

No reasons given, only that the series is cursed."

I guess Sam is the founder and owner of J-Novel Club - Sam Pinansky
