When is vol 18 come out?@ Alzeld - It only came out in Japan 2 weeks ago, so it'll be a while yet.

Plus English publishers sometimes have to negotiate licenses for each new volume, which will only add to the time it takes (no idea if that's the case with JNC and this series, but it might be).

Feels like so long since the last updateThat's because JNC have now caught up with the Japanese releases. So future releases will be much slower now because there isn't a backlog of volumes to work through. There was a 14 month gap between volumes 17+18 being released in Japan, which is a longer gap than usual for this series, but such a gap is by no means unusual for a long running Japanese light novel series.

JNC's fairly quick release schedule for series is generally a good thing, and certainly keeps their readers happy. But it can then be a bit of a shock when they finish translating the backlog of volumes because readers then have to wait many months, or a year or more, for the author to write the next volume. So just like Japanese readers have to wait basically (plus the extra wait time for the English licensing to be agreed and the volume translated).
