Tsukihime MAD - 蜃気楼"shinkiro" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYetCm0Q5MI#normal)

Info :

It tells the story of Tohno Shiki, who since a life-threatening accident in his youth is cursed with the ability to see "lines" on everything around him. Lines along which objects can easily be cut.
Having lived with foster parents for seven years, Shiki is recalled to the household of his family. He had lost all contact with his family over this entire period, making it difficult for him to get used to the new situation. As he gradually learns more about his past, the situation becomes more and more unfamiliar and dangerous.

In case anyone wondering , this is a visual novel :3 (meaning very long story, little bit hentai in it), but the story of Tsukihime is very nice ^_^ (there is an anime of it)

Is the plot any good? The description isn't...well very descriptive. No offense.
Title: Re: [H-Game][English] Tsukihime
Post by: laplacian on March 01, 2010, 06:37:42 PM
Well it's a classic I would say, sure it's kinda dated by now, but it still makes for a great experience imho.

Oh, and it's about fantasy, vampires, demons, assassins, maids (!) etc etc. It's the previous work of the fate/ stay night makers.

Do not let the age fool you.. This is a great GREAT game...

If you're actually into a good story and not your basic schex romp.. You would have probably heard/played this before... unless you're new to the VN/H-game thing.. So this would be quite an experience for you.

Abit long.. I must admit.. VERY LONG if you wanna complete EVERYONE's route.. to be honest.. But.. all in all.. Its a very very very verrrryyyy deep game... A different story for every girl.. Yet every girl fit in to the main plot beautifully.

..
And a personal oppinion... Which i think tons of other people agree on...

...
......

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TSUKIHIME ANIME...
.
...
....

The 'non-existance' anime does not do it justice...
If you find the 'non-existance anime' even just a little bit interesting, this game will rock your socks off...

Extract the Tsukihime rar file. Assuming you use the megaupload links, you should get "Tsuki Hime.ccd" plus two other files
Use Daemon Tools to mount that "Tsuki Hime.ccd".
Run the english patch program: Tsukihime_english_v1.1[mirror_moon].exe
It will ask you where is the arc.sar file. Point it to your Daemon Tools drive. Something like "F:\tsukihime\arc.sar"
Follow the Readme instruction to install the Music.
Run the update program: Tsukihime_English_v1.2_update_[mirror_moon].exe

I have this english patch for Kagetsu Tohya:

Not sure if the latest, also don't remember where i get it. Let me know if there is already a newer version. Just google for that filename and you should find many links.

Put those ogg files in a directory called CD in game directory. Should be "C:\Program Files\Tsukihime\CD\" if you use the default game directory.

To start the game, run "C:\Program Files\Tsukihime\tsukihime.exe".

If anyone wants to play on a larger than 640x480 window, you can do the same thing as in Umineko. Go to Uncle Mion's site]http://onscripter.denpa.mobi/?page_id=26]Uncle Mion's site (http://onscripter.denpa.mobi/?page_id=26), download the most recent version of ONScripter and the sample ons.cfg and, edit the ons.cfg with Notepad. Replace the "window-width=" value with the width of the wanted resolution, like 800 for 800x600 or 1024 for 1024x768.

From what I've seen on both Tsukihime and Umineko, I didn't notice any pixelation and I'm on a 37" screen with a 1280x720 resolution.
Title: Re: [H-Game][English] Tsukihime
Post by: Green_Tea on May 31, 2010, 10:54:03 AM
But then why not just make it fullscreen?

Oh well it'd stretch on widescreens I guess. But ONScripter is hard to use; I haven't even gotten the hang of Ren'py yet. =\ Sounds awesome though.

Oh yeah, anyone install the re-made music into their Tsukihime? I played the first time through without BGM's (lol) so this time I decided to go all out and I searched hard for the better music. It sounds good enough to listen to on it's own and (since I played Kagetsu Tohya with music) very nostalgic nowadays.

I think I can upload it in my spare time if anyone wants.

Great visual novel. Hope someone decides to translate the remake when it is eventually released. I think it is type-moon's next upcoming project (after the current). Should be interesting to see it with updated graphics at least.

Always bet on Duke!

Regarding the Tsukihime remake, given their Blizzardesque release rate and the fact that Mahoutsukai no Yoru is going to be released next month, you still need to wait some years before calling it the new Duke Nukem.

tbh while im looking forward to the remake we already have enough Tsukihime techniqualy what with its fan disc Kagetsu Tohya and the Melty Blood series, im also glad that the melty blood and Kara no Kyōkai merged in Actress again, just waiting on them to hit the fate/stay universe head on

Eh ? What was so bad about Akiha's ending ?

It was really bittersweet, and left you with a nice open ending. Plus she gets her full ending in Kagetsu Tohya.
I think an ending where you see Akiha and Shiki living happily together as pair wouldn't really fit em.

Ahh.. Yes... Sachiiinnn~~~

Yeah.. They should have her route in that remake as well.. Maybe as an extra character? *shrugs...
Although.. I must admit that... Tbh.. I did find her quite cute the first time I played Tsukihime.. and well... I gave my 'Dead End' virginity to her...

The mirror moon patch includes a flow chart in the folder the game installed to, in the "Extras" folder. It's not as user-friendly as the one that came with Fate/Stay Night but it's better than a straight "pick these to get this ending" guide if you want to see the bad ends (which are actually worth seeing in some cases).

Kohaku...though considering how fucked up everybody is you could probably make a case for Hisui being crazy too, though by Tsukihime standards she's pretty normal.

yeah tbh it was a pretty messed up game as far as the routes went, more so then fate/stay but at least shiki always comes through at the end I still want to know more about the sorc who helps him, she pops up in melty blood and according to battle moon wars shes rens master from the clock tower but wonder if she will be a route in the sequel.

Don't think so...

I just started to much games recently... playing Tsukuhime, Eien no Aselia, Dabianchou and some other stuff at the same time kind of tires you out...
And 'cause I can't split myself in 2 (or 10 would be better) I just had to set a break on some things...

Which further reminds me, I still have one route in Sengoku Rance to play and Sharin no Kuni still waits for me to continue... if I think about it, I'm rather busy :-\
Well, has to wait for my headache to settle down...

The side story "A Story for the Evening" on Kagetsu Tohya takes place after one of Akiha's endings.
The one where Shiki seemingly dies - I forget if that's the true or normal ending but that's irrelevant. It retcons it so that Shiki lived and the very end she gets a letter from him saying he's coming home.
Also definitely play Hisui's route. Like, seriously, not even just as a Hisui fanboy, but the ending will probably put a totally new spin on the plot of pretty much every route before it if you haven't been spoiled. You'll probably still rage though.
Akiha dies in the True End.
Oh, I knew that Shiki lived through that, but that doesn't compensate how bad the ending was.

It's not her route, so I wasn't expecting anything good for her. And it's not that I dislike the sisters, I just got mad and never got the will to play it again.

EDIT: For the people having trouble downloading it from TYPE-MOON's site. (http://www.multiupload.com/TZ0ECEZE1R)

Naw mang. Tsukihime transcends any one heroine. In my opinion at least.

Also; I still have to go back to rance for Kenshin's route. =\\\\\\\\\\\\

KENSHIN <3
HISUI <3

Indeed. I like some heroines more or less than others but every route was worth playing and a good story. Not to mention that if you don't play *every* path you aren't getting the full story since a lot of details from other routes are filled in in passing in others.

I made a ~50 page thread right?

That just means you got lucky someone actually posted in it, not that you're some kind of super poster.
Except you posted all ~50 pages yourself, that would make you some kind of attention seeking spamer.

Torrent for the one who want it.  It's Tsukibako though, which mean Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya and PLUS DISC all in one torrent.  There should be 5-10 seeds still going around but if not... please tell me and I'll seed  ;)

and here just for the laugh....  Tsukihime ending reactions  ;D

It's been ages... other than Akiha's ending... Kohaku ending, (and Arc true which is pretty much canon)... I can't remember any of the other routes =-="  Someone remind me what those ending were...
I do remember either arc good or ciel good involved a threesome or something... well... not literally in the sex scene but ya.
I've always liked Akira Seo and Miyako Arima better than all the other characters excluding Kohaku

Ciel's Good Ending was great just for being so blatantly silly in a game like Tsukihime.
And yes it was Ciel's Good Ending that had the threeway of Ciel and Arc sharing Shiki.
I played this one a long time ago and have the urge to play it again but what are the order for all the sequel because there where not translated when i have played it?

The order would go Tsukihime and then Tsukihime Plus-Disc and then Kagetsu Tohya.  Melty Blood kind of counts, but its only a fighting game using the Tsukihime characters.  There's also Tsukihime: Fool's Errand, but I haven't gone through it, so I can't say anything about it except that its unoffically related to Tsukihime.  There are others that are set in the same universe as Tsukihime, but are not actually linked (very much anyway) to the story, like Fate/Stay Night.

(April) Fools Errand is a parody kind of thing, not canon at all. the release date should be an indication...
