Soon after transferring, he discovers that Erika Sendo, one of the students in the class next to his, is in fact a type of vampire.

Wow! I didn't even know someone is translating this vn (still hoping to get a Yoake Mae EngPatch one day)
Very, very mch appreciated!

Too bad the partial patch doesn't include even a single route, so there's no point in reading the VN just yet  :(

I've been waiting for this project to finish for years.  It's kind of cursed, since it's stalled so many times already.  Perhaps my hopes won't be wasted afterall.

I'll respect their tenacity for keeping on translating it after 4 years, but sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't have just been better to put the VN down and have another team take it over. Well, hopefully we'll see the end of it someday.

KoutoutekiSonzai

Unfortunately, I doubt anybody else would have picked it up if it was dropped.  It only became well known after the anime came out and, now that the anime is finished, it will probably fall into obscurity again given enough time.

I found the anime while browsing yesterday, and I was like, "That sounds familiar."  So I looked back and said, "Oh right, I saw the Visual Novel on Kureha-One".   Now that I've watched the anime I -really- hope they finish this, I want more of the story.

Havent they made very big progress over the past month or so?

KoutoutekiSonzai

Yes, they have made good progress editing wise over the last month.  Like 10% editing a week wise, but the translation hasn't moved.  If I were to guess, I'd say that they want to give us a partial with Kiriha's route finished as soon as possible.  I could be wrong though.

It wasn't that I was saying they were not making progress.   I checked the site and saw that the editing is close to done on Kiriha's route, which is awesome.   Really looking forward to playing through it, but I've seen a lot of translation teams end up dropping awesome games for one reason or another.   So it was more just voicing my hope that it doesn't get dropped more than saying that I had any suspicions that this particular game would be.

Best hope for this project as well. I think August's stuffs are cursed or something. Crescent Love was done with translation for like a year ago but suddenly all the editors dropped from the face of earth. I think it's getting edited now but it's a snail pace. Yandere picked up Eustia, they're usually pretty good with keeping up with the project, but after one year it's officially on life support. And of course Fortune Arterial that has been picked up and dropped a few times.

I just really wish one of these reach the finishing line. Since they merged with a scantranslation group I hope their prospective is better this time >.<

Crescent Love..
I don't know when that was last updated but :
Translation: 100%
Editing: 26%
QC: 13%
Engineering: 95%
Image editing: 15%
Do agree this is quite deceiving. Make wonder if the translation was that bad or if their editors were really slacky.

Eustia is still missing a translator? That's not good.. In those times I wish I started learning Japanese years ago.

I have good hope for Fortune Arterial too. Things seems to be progressing smoothly now, from what I last saw anyway.

Oh Edger (the translator) is what I would call a miracle worker. He was the one translated Canvas 2 and edited the whole thing, by himself. It's certainly one of the longer VN translated and one of the better translation out there, so the problem is definitely not him. But I guess the experience burnt him bad enough that he absolutely refuse to do the editing by himself again after finishing the entire translation (again by himself). He started with 2-3 editors but all went AWOL. Recently there are a few new editors jump on board, but from what I see it's still pretty slow.

What makes me think it's a curse is the situation itself is awkward. Most projects stalled due to the lack of translators, whether once thing got translated the editing process usually goes very fast. Here we're sitting on a complete translation for one year and editing still has to play catch up >.<

On the good side though, Edger moved to a new project, and you won't believe it ... it's Air. Given his past work I have good faith that Air may be finished this time (I think its luck over the year is as bad as Fortune).

Oh, he was the one who translated and edited Canvas 2?! Props to him then, had I know that I wouldn't even have thought about it this way, I guess the Editors are being slacky or could be they're having problems to agree on things.. won't really know what the problem(s) is/are until they tell us outright or someone ask them. Editing can be a pain, I agree, not that I have experience but it takes time and knowledge to do it right, at least I think so and... doing it by yourself after doing the whole translation.. IMO is almost the same as making a second translation pass, especially when you're a perfectionist and you end up rechecking the same sentence over 5 times just to make sure it sounds as naturally good in english as it can get without losing its original sense.. and then you add up how over 30k+ lines there could be.. or at least I think of it like that since I'm doing that right now for S;G and I kinda do it when just typing normally like right now.

A few projects seems to be cursed at the moment, I'm just hoping those "curses" can be lifted at some point, the sooner being the better obviously.

That's great news, I've already read the VN in Japanese so I'm interested in knowing how much I butchered the actual story. Thanks for that piece of info (both of them).

Great news, translation has reached 25% for the whole game! Wahey! Editing is currently at 23%.
I am very pleased, Edger even got an amazing Editor to follow close. I really have huge hopes for Air now.
And they're being rather quick even, it's only been 4 months and already 1/4 translated and about 0.9/4 edited~

Anyone got any more recent update on it? Sheeta mentioned the Common Route being almost done and that they were considering partial patches but no new since then, as far as I know anyway. I'm ready to wait even more years even after all this time, but the excitement can't leave me.

Geckoey Lurker

I am aware of the double-post.

For those unaware, Kiriha and Kanade's routes have been translated and released awhile back now.
Check the Anime-Sharing TLs Page or the OP for the patch & informations.
