Title: Actual Manga Discussion
Post by: Antigonius on November 04, 2018, 07:38:38 PM
So, let's talk about mango and mango accessories!

What manga are you reading currently? Which is your favourite or most hated?

I personally am sort of on a zombie-streak right now: read Fort of Apocalypse and I am a Hero and you know what? Those two are legitimately good mangas, especially the last one. I especially liked the characters and how they interacted with each-other and the world around them.

Sounds nisu~. Speaking of zombies, you also read Gakkou Gurashi? I'm planning to read it later, but i want to continue where the animation ended tbh (Or should i read it from the start? Decisions, decisions...)
Btw, is it truth that High School of the Dead got turned into a web novel? I know that the manga is dead as well as one of the authors, but i think i found a blog of HSOTD with stuff that did not happened in the manga so i thouht it was a Fanfiction or something. But that was years ago...

Actually, im reading a lot of Series that are Ongoing (Series no yet finished) to the point i really can't count all of them. All i do it's that i saw them in the updates page, then i remember i was reading this, an read the new chapther. Still, there are a lot of them that are good thou. Some are cute, some are spooky, some are gory, some are interesting, and some are funny.
If i'm going for my favorite manga, i will be very indecesive, since there are a lot of them that i instanly want to read as soon as there is a new chapther, so for now i'll go with One Punch Man (One is really working his ass for now), Berserk (10 pages every 6-12 months  :'( ), Tenkuu shinpan (Feels like a bizarre shonen horror battle royale tbh, still not bad), Terror man (Korean web comic with a Terrorist helping people as MC), Shinju no Nectar (Oh damn... ;D ;D), and Goblin Slayer (The LN is good but the manga is really good).
If i find a manga that i really don't like i actually skip it tbh. Still, if i have to choose, then i guess it would be that manga series that i forgot it's name that was about a guy looking for a part time job with her senpai, then he got in a mansion and had to solve puzzles in order to get out. I was expecting spooky horror, but i got feets and nylon socks fetishs (Not that i mind to much, still dissapointed)

SHOUNEN RANT!
One Piece - theme and art gets weirder and weirder. From giant babies, toys, cakes, talking trees and abnormal character designs. Maybe Raftel would look something like one of Picasso's painting.

My Hero Academia - none really. but if the most popular/liked character of you manga is not the main character, then something must be wrong.

Shokugeki no Soma - it has overstayed its welcome. Now that they're already elite ten, weird characters begin coming up with their matching weird clothings to look more edgy. Maybe if the story is more relevant than some stepchild-something it would've been better.

Seven Deadly Sins - power level? what that? as long as you have the will, you'll win eventually

D. Gray-man - dude! update!

Kakegurui - also overstayed its welcome, or just the story got derailed to a longer route. And with puzzle/mind games story, the longer the manga, the more complicated the games get and seeing the characters taking these too seriously makes them look so stupid.

Boruto - several hundred of chapters of leveling up but you'll just get killed by some kid. Why does this even exist?

Hajime no Ippo - still stuck in the 90's i see, lol

One thing i can't stress enough and recommend, to everyone and traitorAIZEN in specific is this :
if you haven't heard about "Tower of god" previously, i ENVY you. it is not technically a "manga" but a Korean webtoon (so full-colored)
This is the single best piece of art/work or anything i can think of, that i consider the best. the one thing i always keep waiting for to come out on a weekly basis. i can't recommend it enough. if you like a really vast and in-depth thought of universe with a vast amount of amazing characters (not just 2-3 or the main character by itself or what not... i'm talking dozens here if not more) and a story that is EPIC and keeps getting better and better (like.. it was amazing off the get go... but this days? PERFECTION) and really great world building, foreshadowing, thought and progress and the ACTION + art + plot.... i can keep going on and on about it.... it's just flawless in my eyes.

Yep and I LOVE it, though less for zombies and more for it managing to be both hopefull and depressing beyond any belief, just like any good zombie story should.

I suggest reading from the start, cause the story is radically different from that in the anime. You'll appreciate Miki and Yuki even more.

Also, truth to be told IDK. I haven't bothered about HOTD, ever since the author closed it and accused westerner of piracy and all that.
