Well if I understood the instructions correctly it'd only be possible to do that if you already have a purchased copy that you can legitimately activate.  (Then you can spread the activation-free .exe around so the rest of us don't have to.)  Though I guess the second part mentioned something about Delphi initialization points or something, so that might be possible with just the .exe, I don't really know enough about such things to say either way.

well, I was obviously referring to "If you want to get the file without activation, all you have to do is run the function at 4DF45C after running some of the Delphi initialization code at entrypoint."

Assuming that statement is correct, then there is no doubt that it's possible to crack without activation using the above method.

Hmm problem.

I just reached chapter 2 and all voice seems to have stopped.

is the meant to happen or is it a side effect of not having all the files for the ISO

only prologue, epilogue and h-scenes are voiced in PC version. PS2 version is completely voiced - there will probably be some voice patch, like in Utawarerumono, importing PS2 voices to PC version, made.

This, I'd like to confirm the integrity of the files if possible...

1. Download the first 9 parts from MF
2. Join with hjsplit
3. Mount iso.
4. Copy the Demonbane folder from the iso to your desktop
5. Open the folder.  Replace the exe with the one I posted on the first page (the filefactory link).
6. Double click exe and play

Jast has decided to fill the dvd with game movies (trailers...whatever... totalizing 1,78gb).
Parts 1 to 9 are enough to get the full game working...however, if you feel like getting game movies, download everything. xD

about the voices i am pretty sure some one will do what they did with fate stay night get the rest of the voices from the ps2 or a later more voiced version

I think I'll go ahead and buy the game. Never saw the anime, but heard a lot of negative reviews about the game. So I held off previously despite liking Nitro+ games in general. But about 2 hours in, I must say it's been good. I guess it's because Nitro+ games generally cater to my taste. So I do want help more translated into English in the future.

Kureha, the PS2 torrent you posted appears very dead. 2 peers, no seeds and most trackers are timing out, are unreachable or refuse connection. Considering that of those two peers, one is on DHT, the torrent itself is likely dead.

[spoiler] This story takes before the first game. Al Azif had a master named Azrad who was seeking vengeance at her wife murderer, Raal Rovdy. Rovdy formed a group called D.D (Darkness Dawn) and began to prepare for their god, Zs-Awia. Azrad and Al piloted Aeon to fight them.
They wonder around the world, trying to find clue about him while killing his minions. One day, they contacted Hadou Kojo who was carrying Demonbane's parts to Arkham City. Later, Hadou Kojo went to London to retrieve 'Manaus Statue' from British Museum. There, he met Ada. They weren't the only one looking for the statue. Rovdy and his minions followed them to take back the statue. Of course, Azrad also showed up to have his revenge, but failed. At least, Hadou managed to secure the statue. Then, he decided to take Ada(Nyala as well) around the world. Ironically, it was Daijyuji Kuro from the future in disguise of Hadou Kojo(More detail from the game). He showed Ada all his works: excavation, Hadou Corporation stuff for half year. While they were on trip, they were still attacked by the beastmen from Rovdy. After half-year, they went to Arkham City where Hadou mansion was. Hadou showed off all his crazy stuff. And finally, he revealed Demonbane that was still under construction and asked Azrad to pilot it. Azrad refused the offer. Hadou asked Ada to go back to London. While Ada was on the train, Nyala and D.D kidnapped her. Nyala then showed up herself to Hadou. It turned out that she was Nyarlathotep. She asked him to hand over the statue to Rovdy, so Hadou accepted it. They managed to rescue Ada in cost of the statue. So they went to Amazon, base of D.D. They were too late. Rovdy already finished ritual of Zs-Awia summoning and became a part of the death god. They still managed to steal the statue as it was power source for Zs-Awia. While they were returning to Arkham City, Zs-Awia caused havoc at every place it visited. Azrad=Aeon held Zs-Awia long enough for incomplete Demonbane to get here. Aeon got decimated by Zs-Awia in deus machina form. When Demonbane popped up, Zs-Awia realized it by instinct and ripped it off. Azrad used his all power to restore Demonbane. Hadou used Demonbane to unleash Lemuria Impact on Zs-Awia which resulted in destruction of Providence (This will be mentioned in the game). Azrad died as a result, and Al Azif left to find new master. Later, it turned out that Zs-Awia was Master Therion. Nyarlathotep brought him Etheldreda. Next, he headed to Arkham.

[spoiler] Takes several years after the first novel. Master Therion came with Liber Legis to face Hadou Kojo. Hadou had his own grimoire called Little Ada.(Not exacrly grimoire, but copy from original.) Hadou countered Master Therion in outer space to avoid any damage on Earth. At the end of their battle, Hadou did kamikaze on Master Therion, sealing both of them into other dimension, but before that, Master Therion sent his blood 10000years past time line. That evolved into Martians to do ritual summoning of him later on. In the meantime, Nyarlathotep gave Al Azif her new master named Edgar. Edgar had pretty sad past. He and his younger brother were orphans, and got adopted by a priest. It turned out that the priest was using children as food for man-eating plant. They were drained by the plant, but Edgar managed to pull the priest along with them, and the underground collapsed. Edgar was near death, and Nyarlathotep in rat shape saved him, boosting him into an adult. Master Therion's Martians started to invade the Earth. People who heard weird sound from raidos turned into Martians. After blowing up London, Edgar joined Ada and her company. They headed to Arkham after having discussion. Edgar, Al, Ada and Little Ada rode on cannon space ship and went to Marth. Edgar manipulated Martians, so that their Master Therion summoning circle became Demonbane summoning circle. Then, Ada casted the summoning spell. They managed to summon a huge Demonbane, different from normal version. 10x size of normal one. Mixture between Asura and Centaur. Hadou Kojo was fused with Demonbane. (Pic below.)

Demonbane destroyed all Martians on Earth and rewinded time so invasion didn't happen, but Master Therion came back as well through Infinity Heart in Demonbane. As a result, Demonbane became decimated. Master Therion tried to bring his father, Yog Sothoth through the heart. In the process, he killed Ada and Little Ada in their space ship. Edgar was enraged momentarily, but realized that Demonbane was the only solution for this situation. He changed Aeon into engine form to fit Demonbane's heart. Edgar and Al managed to revive Demonbane. And fight in ridiculous cosmic proportion fight goes on. Both robots doing crazy shit like time manipulation, fighting in different kinds of universes, later on growing bigger than universe. Fighting at much much higher dimension. Nyarlathotep noticed the fight looked stalemate and endless, so she reversed time for entire multiverse. Edgar was back on where he was stuck at collapsed underground, then died. In short, nothing happened actually.
But Edgar's essence remained inside Demonbane. Then, the story goes to the main story.[/spoiler]

Okay, so I'm the fag who asked for the ps2 scripts a while back on /jp/, I'd only just started reading MLA at the time which is why I took so long before making an attempt at creating a voice patch for this game.

Anyway long story short, after going through all the trouble of creating a program to insert the voice tags, I only received ~55% success rate. The damn ps2 scripts just don't match the ones from Jast! No I'm not talking about completely different dialog I'm saying some lines are off by as little a single Japanese character! So fuck it.
(Incase anyone was wondering, the translated scripts did contain the Japanese text but were commented out, which is how I performed my insertions, otherwise it would have been impossible)

Might have had better luck using the scripts from Demonbane THEBEST, as some anon pointed out on /jp/ but I'm doubting it since the Jast scripts are a mix of two different versions of Demonbane. Apparently there's another guy porting it along with the ps2 resources to the old pc engine so all we can do is keep an eye out for it (I've only heard some guy mention it and nothing else so I don't know if this is true). Although it makes me wonder what scripts he'll be using or is he doing it by hand? (If you're reading this then good luck)

Either way it suxs to be me, I haven't even played this damn game yet and I'm already sick of it!

of the routes, i found that al / ruri routes were fairly similar  , while leica was different plot wise

for the most part al and ruri have the same goal and enemy while Leica's enemy has no goal other than to beat her

The choices for Ruri are all basically the ones you didn't pick if you already did Al's path (while avoiding the choices that lead you to Leica's path, which are pretty obvious).  The only thing of note is that you have to save at the beginning of chapter 13 and then play through her route to the end.  Once the credits end and your back at the title screen, just hit "continue" and the game auto loads that save (which I thought was a nice touch).

I'm dumb but where are the save files for the game kept? I have the game on a USB harddrive so I can play on different computers, but apparently either the save files are not in the game directory or the difference in drive letter assignment screws them up. Saves on one computer doesn't show up on another.

You're not dumb, as they are kind of hard to find:
C:\Documents and Settings\(whatever your user name is)\Application Data\Nitroplus\Demonbane USA\version2.00
Thats where you'll find them.

Some game companies have that bad habit of placing their save files inside the "Application Data" or the "Local Settings\Application Data" folders.

That's not companies habit, but some windows compatibility requirements - i don't remember exact details, but game won't pass "Windows 7 compatible"  badge certification if it writes it temporary and user saved data to program files direcrtory, and also UAC blocks write attempts for unsigned applications...

Then people wonder I turn UAC off.

I keep UAC on and I've never had a problem.

stuff happens, our links for the voice patch unfortunately aren't very good... there's always HF or whatnot...

It appears the link on Megaupload part 5 has some sort of problem.

The download constantly gets stuck at 1.05% and the connection breaks.

Could someone re-upload this?

Edit: It also looks like there is some sort of issue with the voice patch. As it works for about half the time, and doesn't for the others. Voiced lines may suddenly get cut somehow into only text and then move on as text and suddenly be voiced again.

Originally I only played the Al route... but after a while I decided to re visit the game.  Ruri is cute too.  The route itself isn't quite as awesome but Ruri's cuteness is astounding.

The problem with Ruri's route is that its almost identical to Al's route.  Only the endings are different; though Ruri's endings were interesting.  The other good thing about doing Ruri's route is that it really helps you make sense of Al's ending.

the history of her grandfather was pretty interesting

but seriously the ending isn't as satisfying as the Al route... maybe if they did a threesome...

well there was that threesome the nyarla, but look how that ended...

Nya in her own way is awesome... maybe... she scares me a bit.  But I think it would turn out differently with Al and Ruri... they're both very very arrogant in their own way... Ruri is a nice blend of soft wily lady, harsh commander, and naive sheltered girl.  Al is... cute, slightly off, non-human love interest.  I don't like Leica as a heroine so I never did her route.  Is it any good?

well typical caring older sister type character i guess, her route is quite different from the other two plot-wise

first i want to say thanks for the uploader, and the second i have a problem when playing this game, when i play Al Azif Route the bad end after i choose "And then even my despair fades to nothing" its always throw me back to tittle screen, soo i never had Al Bad End.

I think that's the bad end already. The whole epilogue in the dream/ illusion world is already the bad end.

Bad ends simply don't give you credits... and it's an inescapable loop.
