Title: [H-VN] Kira Kira Curtain Call
Post by: Angelus on May 01, 2010, 06:24:38 PM

Kira Kira Curtain Call is the fan-disk for Overdrive's second title, Kira Kira.
This game is set in Oubi Academy; several years after the original took place. Part one is a new tale of youth about all new characters who pour their hearts into music. Part two brings back characters from the original game and serves as a grand finale to the Kira Kira world.

------------------------------Part One---------------------
Several years have passed since the amateur band Second Literature Club spent a summer touring Japan and performing live. When Shikanosuke and his friends graduated from Oubi Academy, the legends they left behind drew several experienced musicians to seek entry into Oubi Academy. Every year, these excellent musicians seek to join the Girls Light Music Club, which inherited the name of Shikanosuke's band, and every year they give high quality performances rivaling the original.

Meanwhile, the Boys Light Music Club has faced nothing but decline. As a club whose only goal was to enjoy music, they've fallen low in comparison to the Girls Light Music Club. Honda Souta was also a member of the Boys Light Music Club, but Souta needed to put on a better performance than the Girls Light Music Club. The reason behind his drive was Yoshimoto Yui, the vocalist and guitarist of the current Second Literature Club. Yui was Souta's unrequited love and his greatest rival who always outdid him. Souta always challenged Yui, saying, "If I can outperform you, then you'll have to go out with me!" The stage for their contest was the upcoming Cultural Festival.

"If I can put on a better performance than the Second Literature Club, then Yui will realize how cool I am!"
Souta was full of drive, but the rest of the club was the same as ever. What will happen at the Cultural Festival? What will happen to Souta's one-sided love?!

------------------------------Part Two---------------------
After he graduated from Oubi Academy, Murakami formed his own band, HAPPY CYCLE MANIA, just like he always wanted. The band overcame many troubles and was finally gaining ground as a popular band when a new trouble arose! Their vocalist, Aki, made her solo debut as a professional singer, leaving their band without a vocalist. Murakami thought, "Well, this happens often enough to any band in the industry. We'll figure out something," but he just couldn't seem to move forward. He found himself worrying about their past, their future, and the more he worried, the more he got stuck in a slump. Murakami stopped acting like his usual self, the band grew edgy, and they began to face the threat of disbanding.

Each band member begins to think about their ideals and their dreams, but what answer will Murakami find when they all come together? What lies in store for HAPPY CYCLE MANIA and Murakami?

Many characters from the original game will appear in this grand finale to Kira Kira!

Cracking newer versions needs a bit more than just the exe. You actually need the scripts to

verify how certain checks are done, so you can incorporate measures against them in the exe.

And you need the entire game to test if it works, which it usually does.

Enjoy, /jp/

Why are you splitting downloads in so many parts? The fewer parts, the easier it's for people to download, and MU allows up to 1024 MB of file size.

Kureha this server is in Japan ?

If is in Japan Maybe is a good idea Delete the Ef thread ...
Kureha hosts it from his home pc - located in Taiwan.

Well because i collect points for each download to mantain for free my premium account:

If someone have problems downloading split parts the best solution is the use of jdownloader or other similar software

It's not a home PC... It's a dedicated server.

It's not a home PC... It's a dedicated server.
oh, my bad.
I thought it's home PC, since reverse-IP resolves to 118-171-103-117.dynamic.hinet.net, and you're also using no-ip.org dynDNS as domain name.
i've never seen dedicated server with dynamic ip, but with asia IPv4 adress shortage it might be possible i guess.

I believe i know the reason about Angelus asking about IP and Ef... To be honest i've been thinking about it myself recently..

But i still think that whatever the case, bottom line, its Kureha's decision... So 'kiddies' like us should not butt into mommy and daddy's conversation.. XDDD LOLOLOL No offence tho. Meant that as a joke obviously.

But back to topic...
...

Holy Oranges Batman!
Angelus you did it again...
Title: Re: [H-Game][English] Kira Kira Curtain Call
Post by: Kureha on May 02, 2010, 11:00:55 AM
I'm just lazy and can't afford to buy a domain name and using a dynamic IP helps to keep people guessing. I could give my ISP a ring and switch to static, but I'ld loose my 8 dynamics. Used to use a gotdns.com address but someone got them to terminate my service.

Some places see the server IP as american, I don't know why. On the EF note, I believe that we'll be ok, Kureha One doesn't show up on google when you search for EF, I also believe that it's not licensed here nor are any other VNs as there isn't a market for it here. Ever since we hopped to no-ip, visitors have dropped by 25~50%. Kinda defeats the server hardware upgrade I spent... lol. I'm not trying to be popular or get a zillion hits, this is just a place where people can easily get what they want and be able to talk about things and help each other out.

It's not a beta, it's a compressed file. Use WinRar or 7zip to extract.

Hey,

First i'd like to say that i'm not related to mangagamer or Jast in anyway, i have been following these english h-games since True Love and Season of Sakura.
I have to admit that i'm also regularly downloading these new games for free but i have supported these english companies also by actually buying many of their titles, at this moment i have 12 titles on my shelf and 2 downloads from mangagamer.

Piracy has always been with the english h-games but now it is at the point where the game is just hours or next day available for free download...  :-[

I'm not making any silly requests that it must be stopped completely knowing that's impossible but i have been thinking one way that would help: why not wait for 1 week after the official game release and then release them here and elsewhere for free? Just one week. If it results in just 1 or 2 more sold games for these companies them we have supported them (in a way). With the things going as they are now we are just sawing the branch we are all on...

Just my thoughts, don't mean to annoy anyone but give it some thinking...  :)
Title: Re: [H-Game][English] Kira Kira Curtain Call
Post by: Kureha on May 02, 2010, 03:08:10 PM
Yeah but, most of the games aren't actually released by us. We just archive what we find. After 2 or 3 games we took it easy and other people from other places took over the race for releasing things. This forum started out as a archival place for games that /jp/ talks about and sorta expanded a bit.

Angelus actually buys alot of the games, he just wants them cracked. I think he mentioned it in one of the older threads.

This is unfortunately what all of us are thinking and also where we go wrong... what could possibly change if we just go on like this?

Also this thread have had already over 1000 views in just 2 days from release. Even if half of them downloaded the game that is 500 so you can't deny that this site has indeed become basic place for most of us to download the game.

Is it really hopeless to allow 1 week's worth of respect to companies that we depend on? Can't we atleast try and see what happens? Kureha could hide or delete threads about game release until it's been week from it. If we could get this mentality across places like nyaatorrents and other places like this that would be already huge win.

And about mangagamers's DRM you can't expect them to be able to afford better DRM and even if they were it would be cracked just the same way... :(

Feel free to give me your opinions

If people of /Jp/ agrees  with your idea I will  Donate 1000 $ to mangagamer Its a promise !!! XDDDDDDDDDDDD

Its impossible stop the piracy.

Mangagamer have a lots of money so they  can buy a new DRM system (its a joint venture of circus overdrive , navel , nexton .. )

I'd like to call myself fan too but i'm still a human, i have example of what have happened to me in past: i was jobless but was still considering to buy Shuffle when it came out but unfortunately it also quickly spread on torrents and in here, downloading it freely just become way too big temptation and i ended spending the money on new shoes instead and downloading the game for free... Of course i'm not saying this is the case for all of us but i believe some of us have had similar situation.

I'm not saying that every illegal download equals lost sale, that's just ridiculous but if 5% of those 1000 might have bought the game what about then, is that thought impossible?
The temptation to just download the game for free since you don't get anything else by buying the game like you'd get with physical copy is big. You don't have to be real fan and only having real fans buying might not be enough.

I could post like this in /jp/ but if i'm alone on this i can see the results without trying and they don't even seem to care to moderate it... I feel like forums like Kureha One and Sakurahana would listen with more open mind about this, atleast i hope so.

I agree that it's impossible to stop piracy but that's not what i was talking about in the first place. Just giving companies some time so those uncertain people considering to buy the game would actually buy them without wanting to wait. Of course those who don't care about those companies so much would search the game for free anyway from somewhere.

Even if mangagamer is joint between various companies i doubt they would throw too much money if the profits aren't in there... and "better" DRM for company are usually more restrictive for the users so is that really a good thing?

Although i kinda understand where you're coming from... But i also believe that Angelus is kinda right tho..

I mean.. Piracy has existed since age olds... presumably even before the 'age of pirates'... its only just during that era that 'piracy' got noticed. But this info is debatable.. so.....

But even so. I think you too understand that even SOME pirates have a 'code of honor' right?...
So i guess to quote Angelus: "Real fans buy the games"
and maybe yours: "Wait a week before sharing"
some others: "I only wanna promote the game to my friends" & "I'll support whenever i have the $$$ in the future."

At the heart of it all, these ideas have only the game's best interest. Sure not everyone thinks that way, everyone has their reasons... but to say that your 'code' is better then someone else's... is well.. ... hmm.. not many people will accept that easilly... >_>

Just my input on the matter.

Alot of the people have pretty bad memories of MG due to their early releases, although I agree that they've come a long way, there are still people upset about the quality of the products. Some of them do buy the game after trying it out and seeing that it's up to their expectations, others refuse to pay for butched releases like Higurashi.

I do not mean to force my ideas to anyone, just having them to consider it from this way is already a lot.

Alot of the people have pretty bad memories of MG due to their early releases, although I agree that they've come a long way, there are still people upset about the quality of the products. Some of them do buy the game after trying it out and seeing that it's up to their expectations, others refuse to pay for butched releases like Higurashi.

I understand that from playing their first release myself too, but the way they have dealt with the issue and listened to their fans is something i respect. I'd like to believe that about trying games too but after playing the game once and having nothing special by buying the game i don't believe many will do that.

If mangagamer improve their translation quality some more and release some physical discs rather than digital downloads i'll probably buy a few things.

Kouryuu wrote this:

"There was also some talk about piracy; he mentions that they wish that there were more legitimate sales of their games as their sales were still less than what MangaGamer would like, and that significant piracy continued despite all the internal changes that have been made to improve the quality of their releases.  As to physical copies, kouryuu said, "The idea of a physical copy is being discussed pretty constantly. We know people want them, it's a matter of trying to figure out if and how we can. There are a few ideas going around back and forth right now." "

I can't say for sure but for them to be able to release physical copies of the games more purchases would be needed. But with people having the mentality to not purchase those games since they do not have physical copies they cannot estimate how many people would this actually cover, as in how much more would they sell.
I really hope though that they would take the gamble and bring those physical copies to the table.

Again some of my opinions, feel free to criticize them :)

And no, i'm not Kouryuu. You would think he'd be a bit more against the sharing and not think ideas like "1 week before sharing", right?

And.. Just saying you know..

Maybe you guys could like.. make a new topic in the.. uhh... some other section or something?.. I mean.. This topic is about Kira*Kira Curtain Call.. and the topic is kinda getting too 'general' imho...

Im sorry.. but 'staying on topic' is one of my biggest pet peeves...
..
....

Blame a certain mod from a certain forum for that... *cough*cough*mes-*cough*cough

(EDIT)

Quote Genelize: "I do not mean to force my ideas to anyone, just having them to consider it from this way is already a lot."

... Whoops sorry sorry.. 'force' is not exactly what i meant.. I guess its more along the lines of convincing... Sorry.. Although i may sound this way, being all open and sounding comfy with English and all.. English is not my main language. >XD
... but still once again, i do understand where you're coming from. You're just doing your part in what you think is best for the game.

Actually it doesn't matter what choices you choose, there's only a single ending (no bad ends, etc...).

If there is not already a thread, sure you can post, but remember to use tags, look in the titles of other posts. You'll get the hang of it, also try to post pictures, at least the cover picture.

It's mirrored in attachments in the first post, has OpenBittorrent trackers so it'll be fine even if the original tracker is gone.

It's not a beta, it's a compressed file. Use WinRar or 7zip to extract.
I'm also curious as to why the title has "beta" tagging in it. What does it mean? The game is not beta or anything as you said right?

If I remember correctly, it's because, at the time, the crack wasn't completely tested.
