Might I suggest to flatten and rebuild? You must have issues if you can't connect to a Microsoft server.

Eien no Aselia - Kono Daichi no Hate de is an enhanced version of Eien no Aselia that includes the routes from both the original game and the expansion pack, and features an improved UI, revised battle system, and new voice actors. It's a backport of the Playstation 2 release, and comes with the Sei Naru Kana SPECIAL PACKAGE. Please don't confuse it with other versions of Eien no Aselia.

It's a tactical RPG by Xuse that follows the story of Takamine Yuuto, who is transported to a war-torn parallel world and forced to fight using the power of a sacred sword. The game features 7 different routes and 3 difficulty levels that can be unlocked after multiple playthroughs. Save data can be carried over from one playthrough to the next. The game contains no adult content, and is suitable for ages 12 and above.

The game we're bringing you in partnership with Japanese maker Xuse is the definitive non-adult version of Aselia, featuring an all new English translation produced under the close supervision of Xuse. Bringing the complete, rich gaming experience of Aselia to as wide an audience as possible is one of our biggest goals for this project, so we hope you'll follow our progress as we bring it through development in the coming months!

Way to go retards ...

No seriously, what's the point of that ? Pour your limited resources into a "new English translation" instead of talking to the fan translators about using theirs ? I can't imagine the game doing amazingly good (fanpatch yo) but it will still do well enough I'd say.
It's just annoying to see, how they can spend their resources on something which is already out, instead of for example cooperate with the fan translators, bring out Eien no Aselia with the fan translation and work together with them on the second part.

sazabi

what, they grabbed another fan translation and making a licensed release ?

Wait until people notice that there never will be a conclusion to the story, even if they release it's sequel... I've just noticed that Dakkodango is down. Coincidence?

Actually, probably yes.

It's hosted, along with a whole chain of other websites, (eg. TLWiki and oreno.imouto.org), on the same server.  If Jast C&D'd them, it's logical that only the Dakkodango domain should be down, but it seems instead the whole server is down instead, so probably something else.

EDIT: And lo, everything's back up.

I knew that the entire server was being moved around, I just didn't knew that Dakkodango was hosted there.

jast has announced they are doing the non-h version
so does this version have the h content

They are doing the exact same version that Dakkodango translated.

So, from what I read on Tlwiki's irc, Xuse was initially planning a US PS2 release and translated the game, but they dropped the idea.
When Jast contacted them to localize it, they were told to use Xuse's translation, because they paid for it.

Initially, Jast wanted to release the 18+ version, but there was too much loli raep, and there would have been too much edit to get around that.

There you have it. JAST couldn't use the fan translation and had to stick with the 15+ version due to the amounts of loli and rape on the game. If they wanted their porn with gameplay, wouldn't it have been easier to just go after Seinarukana or another title that's being fan translated?

Swordwind

This would be funny, if spectacularly inefficient resource allocation wasn't depressing.

Surprised J-list doesn't just do the usual thing and sell the Japanese version with Dakkodango's patch. Is there any difference between the one we've all played and the one JAST intends to release?

None at all.

mahou

Well sad for XUSE, but it would seem that works in favor of keeping the translation of Seinarukana unhindered.

Belgaesh

And Jast says that there still one new game annoucement to go, can we really hope for a exclusive vn.
