Pardon my lame pun, I can't resist bad humor. Anyway, what was the first VN/dating sim/h-game you guys played?

I only started playing these things about a year and a half ago. But even before that, I was browsing empornium and looking under the sex games. There's usually not much interesting there but I ran across a torrent for Wanko to Kurasou with the then newly released English patch included. For reasons I'm not entirely sure of (not being particularly into dog/catgirls), I downloaded it and it sat on my HD for a while. Then as I was going through my HD deleting stuff I didn't use I was like "what the fuck is this 1GB iso hogging space for if I'm not gonna use it" so I used it (or maybe not, but that sounds plausible).

Anyway I installed it and mucked through getting it to work somehow and to my relief not all the sex was with loli dog girls (just most of it) and what's more, I actually really got in to the story besides. I couldn't pull myself away from it and I'm pretty sure I played it until like 4AM once I finally started getting into it. Looking back on it it's not that amazing or anything compared to some others I've played, but it was still a really cute, warm, and fuzzy story that tugged on my heart strings and made me cry a few times. Also, <3 Risa. In spite of Yuuichi's cold, asexual self the whole sequence where he realizes he can't live without her and they get engaged is one of my favorite parts in a VN ever.

You don't have to post a long winded story like this, though, I just like to talk (though if you have a story, do share it, along with your first VN of course).

True Love looks....furui. Definately.

Ahh, I've yet to actually play any of the oldies. I have them, but they're so...old T_T

I might have to end up playing them before more OS's come out due to compatibility issues too. Sucks. Oh yes, like I said in the other thread: Bazooka Cafe.

invictus

Probably True Love.

Could also be Nocturnal Illusion... I can't remember which came first.  Probably True Love since I was using Kazaa or whatever it's called at the time.

Your post inspired this thread tbh

True Love was fun, I wish there were more games like it.

sazabi

yep it was true love and then , they should do a remake for it

Jaooooo~

Technically it would be Phoenix Wright or Hotel Dusk three or four years ago, however, if we're talking more 'pure' vn it would be Umineko.

And I kind of wish it was Kanon, which I played immediately after.
ze!

laplacian

Bad memories for me >_< First thing I played was Nocturnal Illusion, and back than I didn't even know what it really was.

I played it still back at home on our family pc in the living room, than suddenly nude images showed up on the screen ... wasn't fun explaining that to my curious parents =P

SaMo

I watch anime since '84.....  play video games since '85....
But my first Vn was.... late 2008... Fate/Stay Night.

Speaking of which, I kinda wish my first VN was Tsukihime. I mean really nukige count, but if it was pure VNs with a story it'd be Tsukihime.

I can't believe how great it still is.

sazabi

never quite got round to Tsukihime, but seeing as a remake may or may not be coming just going to see whats happens.

BTW heard a rumour there was a tsukihime anime...

The rumour is proven to be FALSE. It is the truth of God that there is no Tsukihime anime. How I wish they'd make one.

At least there's a manga out there for anybody hankering for more Tsukihime. Maybe they'll make an anime based off of that, since distilling a muti-route VN into one story is kind of awkward but the manga's done it pretty well.
