Description:The year is 1956; a series of bizarre murders rocks the city of Tokyo. Tokisaka Reiji, an ex-cop turned private eye, joins the investigation at the behest of his friend Uozumi Kyozo, a detective in the MPD. At the same time, he takes on a missing persons' case at a private all-girls high school, as well as a mysterious request from a girl named Toko to find her true self. As Reiji frantically struggles to crack the case, he learns that the murders bear an uncanny resemblance to a case in which his own fiancé was murdered six years ago. But try as he might, the body count just keeps rising...

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lldptfnmy8x9ay4
Just extract the voices to the game directory.
Voices are interpreted as sound effects (SFX volume slider in menu affects them) but are played in a different sound buffer so they won't get interrupted by any normal sound effects playing. Voice support is very basic with no bells and whistles such replaying from the backlog, additional related option menus, etc.
Bugfix(?) patch: Down!
Contains .tjs files (where they are are different) from the original non DRM release which presumably isn't affected by the notebook spoiler bugs. Untested.
Font patch: Down!
Replaces the ugly monospace font they used with Arial.
To use the patches, just copy to the game directory. I think the above 3 patches can be used in any combination; however, the patch file numbers must go in consecutive order (i.e. patch.xp3, patch2.xp3, patch3.xp3, etc. -- note there is no patch1.xp3). As an example: if you only want to use the font patch, just rename it from patch3.xp3 to patch.xp3.
Enjoy!

Crack:http://www.filefactory.com/file/cc13d95/n/kara_no_shoujo_drm_free.exe
surprised me for a moment there, thought you had it already :)
You should already know that I always have to wait for someone to release it on /jp/.
oh well, i can wait
yeah i can wait to still trying to finish demonbane and clannad stupid minecraft has taken over my life RAGE!!!!!!!!!
Going to skip this one, the OVA was lol wut? The VN I've heard more than enough horror stories about how it only has bad endings.
only bad endings? hmm, in that case might need to reconsider it...
I don't know if there are only bad endings, but someone posted on /jp/ about a couple of them:
A very important tidbit about this: MangaGamer basically screwed up and the first version of the game they put up for sale had no DRM whatsoever. They have fixed it now, the current version has it.
The important thing is there's a major bug on the version without DRM. When you meet someone ingame, the MC writes a little profile on his notebook, which you can check anytime and is updated as you find new information about that person. However, when you meet the killer for the first time the notebook entry that gets added is actually the final one, which obviously tells you outright "this is the killer". Way to go, Mangagamer!
AFAIK, this only happens when you meet the killer for the first time, so further notebook entries will be the right ones. So if you're planning on reading this, don't read notebook entries for characters as soon as you meet them. If you wait until you get some more info on that character, the entry should update and it should be safe to check it. Still, I have no idea when it's safe to check as I don't know whodunit.
No word if this bug is fixed on the DRM'd version yet though. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
So basically this is just a bad end game? Everyone ends up dead or screwed up?

Way to screw a mystery game, MG!
=D i herd bad ends
Anon confirmed that the bug was also present on the japanese version.
EDIT: It seems that it was fixed on the demo, but they messed up on the full release.
Well there's no excuse if it's still there on the DRM version then. Still, quite the blunder to upload a premature build with such a serious issue anyway. Makes me wonder why they even had it around.
Yep, seems like the final version is also bugged. GJ dropping the ball, MG.
im sure they will fix it soon
im sure they will fix it soon
I think they would have to if they want to sell.
They have announced on their Twitter that there will be a new version to download soon.
So I guess it was a good thing I don't have my new credit card yet. They need better beta testers, how could they miss such a glaring problem? If I saw that spoiler it would have out right killed the game for me.
I'm definintly not playing this game now seeing that the main girl (the one I'm actually interested in)
either dies or gets quad amputated.
If she gets quad amputated, can she still be happy? Or is she broken? ._.
Spoilers, use them lol.
Maybe she makes a cameo appearance in Katawa Shoujo (if it ever gets finished).
Not really a spoiler anyway, already expected all manner of hell on any of the characters in this game. The fun is seeing how many times you let everyone get screwed up before you finally solve the mystery (screw walkthroughs).
Everyone gets screwed up even if you solve the story.
Really? Well I won't know the extent until I play it anyway.
Precracked. Enjoy.

I hate waitings....
going by the pic Mana posted, all the girls are going to get screwed one way or another, not a happy game at all
already get into 3 bad ends myself... le sigh,im enjoying this game so much though, keep tracking back my steps of what or where I went wrong.
keep chasing one particular girl always net me an early bad end at march 15, those who played know who she is
guess this isn't scenario based where each heroines has different set of endings, i learnt it the hard way though = / but yeah play it, its fun
Anyone know if a voice patch is possible?--being worked on?
If a voice patch is possible in near future I'll hold off on starting the game.
Thanks,
David

some anon on /jp/ stated that he will be working on it soon, but for now yeah we are still waiting
30 Jun 2011 When we released Kara no Shoujo for sale on June 29th,
we mistakenly uploaded the unfinished, Beta version of the game.
In order to correct this matter, we are temporarily removing
the game from sale until we can make the complete,
finished version available in its proper format.
We will send out notification through our mailing system and twitter
once the correct version is available for purchase.
We deeply apologize for all the troubles our error has caused.
I prefer wait for the final version ...
hmmm...maybe I'll just wait till the voice patch arrives before reading this one

Kind of sucks about the notebook bug, but hopefully that gets ironed out pretty shortly. Just hoping I don't accidentally spoil myself or anything. The sudden patches are also a nice surprise. Thanks for the speedy upload!

didn't mangagamer say they posted a beta version on the 29th and they removed it and announced it on the 30th?
Yeah, thats why he added the word 'properly'.
Ivan and Godslayer, thanks for the links!
EDIT: According to Anon,
there is an ending where it's possible to save the main heroine without she getting amputated.
any one got the uncen cg set yet
Personally, I think one should not play this game with a walkthrough. This isn't a pick-a-girl type of a game, so picking different choices unlock different perspectives on the story rather than getting a different girl. Also, this is one game where bad/mediocre endings actually reveal a lot about a story. So it's not like you miss out on everything by choosing the wrong path. Using a walkthrough really takes away all the "gameplay" element to it.
Also, perhaps restrict the use of walkthrough only during the "detective scenes". And save before you do them. Some of the stuff can be quite important, so if miss something, it could screw up everything later(I use vague language here to avoid spoilers).
well here is the walkthrough
http://tlwiki.tsukuru.info/index.php?title=Kara_no_Shoujo_Walkthrough (http://tlwiki.tsukuru.info/index.php?title=Kara_no_Shoujo_Walkthrough)
is it fix now? and the route where the main heroine where she doesn't get amputated is included in the walkthrough?
Until someone who actually knows who the killer is and tests the bugfix patch, we aren't sure if it's completely working, but until now, no one who has used it had any problems.

From what I've seen, no one has uploaded the final version yet.

i have yet to start is the story worth it the heroines aren't as colorful as some from other games
Eroge Download don't want upload the fixed version because of the bug fix patch, instead of upload it for helping who have troubles with and for ease who already have the bugged version -.-
When the bug fixed version is most likely better than MG's final version, I understand why the Erogedownload dev would do that and don't forget about the save compatibility, it's broken by any script changes.
Well I'm really impressed with what I've played so far and I love Yukari & Toko (Kuchiki). Will be buying the 'fixed' version after I get my credit card. Highly recommend others to also support this game if they have the cash to spare. Even more so if you want the sequel and other Innocent Grey games. Also those weak to gore shouldn't be afraid to play this, it's pretty mild IMO. It's the sound effects of the murders that make me cringe, but the cgs and crime scenes aren't all that bad.
Isn't really anything wrong with the current version available besides the 'skip read text' doesn't work, it always skips everything. Other than that haven't noticed anything game breaking.
Eroge Download don't want upload the fixed version because of the bug fix patch, instead of upload it for helping who have troubles with and for ease who already have the bugged version -.-
1. Posting new links means that everyone that downloaded previous parts has to start over downloading.
2. New version has incompatible saves with old ones. People who have started playing old one would have to start from scratch.
So basicaly - uploading new version would have two huge disadvantages for everyone, while the patch is really easy to apply ( just extract the files to game directory). Eventually i'll post updated version, once things cool down.

I really would be glad to buy it... but, not everyone can do it.....
I don't have a Credit Card and I can't apply for one.... fucking country with fucking limitations......

Hey Eroge Download Dev, it's only a disadvantage for ppl who start playing this game. In my case, I've downloaded, but was waiting to play till a "proper" release was ready to download.
You can create a new post warning ppl who previously played the gamed, so they can't mess with their save games.
But it's nice to hear that you gonna post it anyways sooner or later.... (sooner the better).
Thanks a lot, I can't wait it.

If you want it that badly then go and buy it. I won't make 500 people start downloading from scratch just because someone is too lazy to apply simple patch.
Yagami calling others selfish, the irony.
Yagami, deal with it!
That "Bugfix Patch" only removes the notebook spoiler bug.
The skip function bug isn't fixed (sometimes the game doesn't stop skipping at unread text). So be careful when skipping dialogue. Or you can wait for the final version.

Well for the first play-through the skip function isn't as important, but fixing the notebook bug is. So no big deal for now.
By the way, this Yagami guy just cracks me up. He is the only person I have seen that is stupid enough to have the exact same profile in a piracy forum (here) and in the official MangaGamer forums. Then he goes on the MangaGamer forums and complains about the quality of the games in his incomprehensible English (although I doubt he can communicate much better in Portuguese) when he hasn't paid for a damn thing over there. If you've pirated the game I really don't think you should be on their boards complaining about quality.
There are other people with the same profiles here and over there, the problem is complaining about something that he has pirated and regarding his Portuguese comprehension, I've tried in vain to explain some things to him and gave up.

Even in the new Version, the skip function is not fixed. Maybe the third times a charm.

True Ending
There are other people with the same profiles here and over there,
someone that comes to mind is the random clown that started the boycott MG thread
Which does bring up the question of whether that is a good thing or not.
Cool! Downloading this now and can't wait to play...I know I'm a bit slow on noticing that the game was out, but glad to see it here. :)
question about the ending
Are there any ending where touko is alive with her limb intact?
No idea. I've only managed the normal end, then the 'true end' using the walkthrough. Gah the ending is so open. It could be argued Toko is still alive regardless of how improbable. The naming of Kazuna's baby would imply otherwise though, but I have hope ;p. Not knowing what happened to
Misa's corpse. Was the man on the train Shinji (probably?) with his finished 'kara no shoujo' (Toko) or was it Shinzo's (Misa's corpse)
. If Kara no shoujo 2 is a direct continuation I'd really like some answers.
So I assume Yukari doesn't have her own route?
Judging from that picture of girls posted I'd assume no but I'd just like to make sure before starting over. I've just been getting bad ends when I've concentrated on her little scenes.
Which does bring up the question of whether that is a good thing or not.
i inclined more to its a bad thing if mangagamer or jast or both go bankrupt, fan translation is pretty random and sometimes they just abandon the project, we have some good ones like amaterasu, ixrec, tlwiki's, but thats all about it, without mangagamer you wont see shuffle, koihime, da capo, and more games to come. So yeah i actually quite glad mangagamer keep spewing some good titles, jast is pretty much followed mangagamer and start acquiring some good titles as well.
hate to say but i am a buyfag, i bought around 5-6 titles from mangagamer, i just started to support em after seeing many good/decent titles that they actually sell. It was pretty horrible when it was just JAST+PP and fan translation.
In before "mangagamer staff/supporter" hell i do suppot mangagamer now and jast, in hope for better future for the visual novel games.
sorry for OT.
Yukari doesnt have her own route, heck no one has a route in this game.
Sorry I meant like an actual ero scene like you can with the main girls.
Someone post the uncensored CG set. I'm not going to read through how Kuchiki
dies
I've already been spoilered to hell and back and don't feel like reading through any of the endings. (They all suck badly)

There's no definitive proof
she dies
in the normal/true route.
I believe
Toko's corpse is now an art display
in that route.
It could actually be
Mio's corpse.
Never was clarified. It just appears the logical choice would be that it is
Toko
.

I've gone from "hope and wait for games to be translated" to "screw it, might as well just learn Japanese and read the original". Because no matter how you look at it, we're still only getting a teeny bit of what the market has to offer. And it's frustrating for someone like me who loved reading growing up and still do today. And there are so many VNs with great stories.
Also, language skills these days can help greatly with getting jobs. Part of the reason why I'm learning Japanese right now and planning on going to Japan for grad school. In today's world of global economy, there's a severe lack of multi-lingual workers on the job market. This is especially true with English and any Asian language, since they're very incompatible and difficult to learn by either side. I'm seeing that right now working in China. So I'm trying to press that advantage by adding a 3rd language.
If you have the time and is willing to spend the effort, I think learning Japanese is a great investment both for work and at home. :)
When our Chinese overlords finish buying the European Union, Mandarin will also be useful.
There are certainly a lot more fan-translated Chinese VNs than English ones to be sure. But not exactly enough to drive someone to learn the language I'm sure.
Ah, if only VNs are also made by Chinese. :)
who has seen the anime and if they have can they tell me which route it uses
I don't think the anime uses any route from the game and is just the typical mashup of plot and girls (in this case Kyoko, Natsume and Toko). To be fair, though, the anime is probably not finished yet and could go on for another episode.
still no reup for megaupload? ;__;
guess i'll have to bear with filesonic... thanks for uploading it in the first place anyway :)
Sorry about that. I have no idea why it's down. I'll try to get that and We Love Master up. Might take a day though.

I'm want with this uping the unbugged version together e.e
It's still a lacuna in my collection,I'm a collector u.u
Oh dear. Looks like my Kara no Shoujo went down with Nanami's crash. I don't have it either anymore =\
oh, i'm sorry to hear that...
no problem then, it's just that i'll be playing it a little late (as if i'm not late by downloading this today XDD )
but what's about unbugged version yagami mentioned? is this game have bugs?
i haven't read the whole thread because i'm afraid i'll read spoilers by accident =__=
The bug was just that if you checked the character bios in your evidence folder on the killer right after you meet the killer, then it told you who the killer was. However, if you checked the evidence folder after the scene where you first met the killer (by moving to the next location or whatever), then it didn't spoil you anymore. So, if you have don't care about character bios, then it didn't impact you. I just read them all at the end of the game anyway.
oh, thanks for the explanation... that was a very dangerous bug.... -__-;
so, no touching the bio until the game ended right? i'll be sure to remember that
Anon stated that the voice patch fixed that bug, but no one has confirmed it.
voice patch...? oh right, we're dealing with mangagamer here...
still downloading galaxy angel, kara no shoujo is next... i'll try the voice patch and inform you all (if not confirmed by somebody else first)
can someone reupload this? please and thank you.
anyone else feels desperate after touching this game?...
so much 4 trying so hard 2 meet the girls & said many things nice 4 them
just to find the next morning they had become a corpse with torn limb, uterus plucked, and face slithered...
not to mention the sfx of human girls being buchered... there's no good ending in the game (truend is in the drama cd)
Brilliant game. Finished all the endings and I must say, haven't played such an amazing VN in a long time.
In fact, I'll buy this from MG as well. I hope to see KNS 2 soon.

Lastly, we're proud to announce the long awaited voiced edition for Kara no Shoujo! Now you can enjoy one of Innocent Grey's greatest games with the full voice cast! For existing owners of Kara no Shoujo, the voice patch is available separately for $5. The majority of sales for the voice patch goes directly to Innocent Grey for helping us out in making this happen, and bringing us these great titles how they were meant to be.
Last but not least, the voice version will also be included as part of our brand new Kara no Shoujo Limited Edition Hard Copies!
http://blog.mangagamer.org/2013/07/05/announcements-from-anime-expo-2013
"For existing owners of Kara no Shoujo, the voice patch is available separately for $5."
Such a dick move.
It's probably due to the weird way licensing of voice acting works in Japan. From what I've gathered, the companies that the voice actors work for get royalties from the sales of products where it is included, and there are different rates in play when the work is released internationally. It's certainly not the first game where extra voice acting that has been produced after the game itself was released costs money to buy for countries outside Japan, or simply never gets released internationally at all because it is licensing hell.
For example, I believe this was the case for Fortune Summoners, and included Japanese voice work was also the reason why Persona 4 Arena became the only region locked game on the PS3.
Basically, the voice patch costs them money to distribute and thus they need to charge for it. At least, that is my assumption.
I think you're about right, from what I previously read in the past. If I remember correctly, it's also the reason why sometimes an officially localized Japanese game will either come out unvoiced if they haven't bothered voicing it into the target language or won't have an option for the Japanese voices, because the exchange(s) with the Company holding the rights to the voice acting might've failed, or wasn't worth the hassle for either or both sides in the long-haul mainly due to what you said - all that licensing shenanigan, - and the company would request for the Voice Actors' works to be removed from the localized game or something similar to this fashion. Well, I'm basically saying the same thing as you are.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I am not up-to-date with video games as of late, and I don't read-up vidya news as much as I used to.
I didn't know P4A was region-locked, though. Do you mean that the localized one cannot be played elsewhere than the region it was made for, or are you talking about the original Japanese game? I find this quite surprising either way, It'd feel kinda awkward if I bought a game from the Japanese PSN and suddenly couldn't play it because it was one of the rare games to be region-locked.
Other games don't tend to have something as stupid as leaving the voiceover rights on the hands of the agency that provided the talent to do them, which is IG's reasoning behind milking the people who already paid for the game in the hopes of eventually getting a finished product.
And even if that were the case, if small fry like NISA can do it, there is no reason for the top publishers to not do it. The only exceptions are games that fill BDs like Final Fantasy XIII, but those aren't the norm.
As for Persona 4 Arena, it was done that way to stop the Japanese from importing the American release that was a lot cheaper. They were released with two weeks between them.
I certainly hope not, it just seems to bring a lot more trouble, at least for the localizers.
Ahh, I see. That's a smart move I suppose, business-wise, that is.
As a player, though, I don't like that. Actually, I dislike any form of region-locking just like everyone else. *shrugs*

The US and EU releases are region locked because they have the original Japanese dub included as well as the English one. There was even a 9 month difference between the US and EU releases, and Atlus flat out said that this was because of the Japanese vocals being included and the region locking caused them to have to use an external distributor for the EU release. In the case of P4Arena it was said that it was region locked to prevent Japanese players from importing the game cheaper from the US than they could get it locally, which is why I would assume the Japanese version is not locked.
