So I browsed through a bit of the place and I've a few things I've been meaning to do when I came across a peer group. Basically it just means I'm lonely and want some people to talk to.

1) I haven't played Planetarian. I mean, most of the time I've been really searching for a heart breaking story, but somehow I just can't bring myself to play it. Perhaps I'm scared. I mean I've heard stories about it. But it really just doesn't sell to me.

2) Oh yeah I just finished Sengoku Rance the other day. I can't believe how cute Kenshin-chan is. Giant onigiri's are great now. Did anyone else think the sex scenes were inconsistent? I mean sometimes he was good, and other times he really just didn't care how much pain the girl was in. Well I guess it's only a game. Gameplay was good fun; I need to play a second run.

3) Anyone here have a DS and have a flashcart (R4, CycloDS, Edge, etc) to go with it? Have you guys found VNDS? So I played Saya no Uta, Narcissu, Tsukihime +disc and replayed Tsukihime on it. It's actually a really viable way of portable-ing VNs and Eroges. Obviously the DS only has limited capacity and hardware, but I'm guessing as technology progresses shit gets better. And I also think there's a PSP version, but I haven't looked into it since I love my DS.

So uhm. I think this can be discussed right?

Kureha

Personally I find the resolution of the DS to be too poor for my enjoyment of reading text, I have a first generation R4 which is not longer supported or updated.
Planetarian was sad to a point that I've not been able to read it a second time, but it's still inprinted in my mind.

As for Sengoku Rance, I don't really go for games like that, it's just not my cup of tea.

1) Uhhh.. I dont think its wise to ask someone if you wanna play that game.. I mean.. LOL.. That person would probably have to take responsibility if you think that game is 'good' or 'heart-wrenching'...

So i guess its up to you if you wanna read it. XDDD

2) Oh yeah yeah.. giant meatballs.. Uhuh.. Oh yeash that's right.. moe overload... Kawaii.. Uhuh.. Rescue scene... I agree totally with you bro.. Yep yep... but remember bub... *points to signiture... LOLOLOLOLOLOL

3) hmm.. I dont have a NDS tho.. So i cant help you out there..

On the other hand.. Welcome! XD

Green_Tea

Yeah. That sig was a deciding factor in joining this place. Nice to meet you all?

So what's everyone's favourite VN? I'm guessing Tsukihime was a crowd pleaser. Fate was....a bit to esoteric for me. All that stuff about wanting to be a hero, I really couldn't connect with Shirou. Oh oh. Chaos;Head was brilliant, if only they could back port the 360 version I'd be happy as. I hate having no real routes. And Sengoku Rance would get points for the great gameplay. I don't usually play things more than once.
Yeah but Tsukihime really takes the cake don't you think?

Currently installed in my comp:

@HomeMate: It's 3D. I can't get into it.
Chaos;Head: As above.
Cosplay Fetish Academy: Generic.
Cross Channel: Haven't started. The randomness of the start puts me off.
Fate/StayNight: Waiting for a replay. I got rid of my old 100% save file T__T another 3 days of solid work here.
Gadget Trial: Well worth playing, although it's more SRPG than a VN. Currently stuck in campaign. It's hard =\.
Kazoku Keikaku: Long, but worth reading if you want to read. I seem to be in a H-game phase rather than a VN phase.
My Sex Slave is a Classmate: Just got it off here. Haven't tried.
Narcissu: I ended up playing it on my DS because it keeps crashing on my comp. I almost cried. Almost.
One ~To the Radiant Season~: Only got so far, but it's cute for shitty KEY-like artwork.
Rinkan Club: I have a soft spot for Anime Lilith/Black Lilith.
Sandwiched between my Wife and her Sister: Just received.
Suck my Dick or Die: Been playing this today. Not a bad way to go about dark-side plots. So much sex though.
Taimanin Asagi 2: Bit short, but I got it for the tentacles. Not enough of tentacles gets translated. (probably people like Kureha voicing their opinions loudly >=\ |snideremark|) lol.
Tears to Tiara: Leaf sex sucks. Gameplay is a huge drain on my CPU. Storyline isn't great. I guess I play it for the cute.
Tsukihime: Awaiting a new save completion. I lost my old one too.
Utawarerumono: Same as TtoT. Funnier than TtoT though.
Yume Miru Kisuri: The only completed game I currently have installed as I usually uninstall stuff to make space for anime and what not. Great game, really great. I love his works. Apparently.

What about everyone else? Am I the only one that likes Dark Trans stuff (and is normal)?

Kureha

Here's part of what I currently have installed, not including the stuff I haven't installed or haven't moved on to this harddrive.

I don't really have the time to do a review right now.

On the note of the Dark translation stuff, I prefer most of my stuff to be in a semi happy, light tone but that's just me.

Oh, is that Princess Waltz? I customize my install paths so they're a little different I guess. I generally get rid of the production name folder unless it's LEAF or something where I have multiple games.

Geez, Princess Waltz sure had nice art. Oh and is that the Toradora game? T_T <3 Ami-chan.

For some reason, the likes of light-hearted don't appeal to me. Edelweiss sucked (maybe it was the translation though lol) and Shuffle was boring. I should watch the anime apparently. Guess I like my breaking plots.

Breaking plots are great. Western countries don't have that sort of stuff on a regular basis.

EDIT: OH GOD YOU HAVE NTR H-ANIME. I love this place. It's my favourite variation of life breaking.

Kureha

huh where? oh... you mean the Triangle Blue project I did and totally broke my mind? I kinda do things as a hobby, and at the time I was looking for something to sub.

Haven't read through Shuffle yet, I'm kinda avoiding it because I love Nerine so much and trying to see if MG would bring over the Nerine spin off.

Edelweiss was decent, I read through the revised edition lol.

As for mind break, I don't know, some of the time I like them, most of the time I don't , I have a very narrow of acceptance for this kinda stuff.

Yeah.. Nerine is awesome... XDD /hi5 Kureha.. wooot.

Hey tea.. You really SHOULD complete Fate Stay Night.. Yeah.. The fate route is not that great... But i love love LOOOOVE the 2nd route.. Unlimited Blade Works... You should at least complete all the routes in the game before saying 'i like this/i dont like this'.. at least in VN terms.. Because a VN is meant to be played with ALL routes to completion..

You play only one route? You only get to know a very very little part of the whole story.. Most VNs have a story that interlocks with different characters/routes...

And i cant believe you do not like TtT! Or Edelweiss!.. omg.. I find them awesome!.. well.. not as awesome as FSN.. but.. awesome in terms of LOL and well.. story...
...
.... i dont really go for H in VNs anymore.. i mean.. if i wanna go for some real H.. There's a bunch of H-vid webisites i know of that's more than my fingers can count... >_<

Yossarian762

One ~To the Radiant Season~: Only got so far, but it's cute for shitty KEY-like artwork.

It's not really "KEY-like", it is KEY before they split off into their own company. Not to be a smartass or anything, just pointing it out in case you didn't know  :P

Also, I like light hearted stuff generally (though my top three are probably Yume Miru Kusuri, Tsukihime, and Sharin no Kuni), but I wouldn't blame anybody for not liking Shuffle regardless of their tastes because it felt super bland to me. The characters are likeable but not very deep, and it doesn't tell a very good story or have very good sex imo (I think good sex makes up for a bad story and vice versa). Though maybe I've really missed something since I've only played Kaede and Sia's routes?

Lyle

I haven't played it either for the same reason, too scared ;_;
I'm running out of other games to play though, so I guess it won't be long until I have to face it.

I tried Sengoku Rance, but I really didn't like it. The gameplay seemed just like a simplified version of lot of strategy games I had played before, with some porn thrown in. Not that I have anything against porn, but I really prefer a good story.

Also, did anyone else really hate Rance? He was so mean ;_;

3) Anyone here have a DS and have a flashcart (R4, CycloDS, Edge, etc) to go with it? Have you guys found VNDS? So I played Saya no Uta, Narcissu, Tsukihime +disc and replayed Tsukihime on it. And I also think there's a PSP version, but I haven't looked into it since I love my DS.

Playing Tsukihime and Saya no Uta on my DS was acually how I got started on VNs, I really recommend VNDS to anyone! The PSP homebrew your thinking of is a port of Onscripter, but I don't recommend it. It runs very slowly, and since it was not made for the PSP's resolution everything looks very ugly.

Fate was....a bit to esoteric for me. All that stuff about wanting to be a hero, I really couldn't connect with Shirou.

I actually liked that hero stuff about Shirou. I didn't take it seriously or agree with him, of course, but I thought it was interesting. I took it as some mental trauma left over because of the stuff with his father. It wasn't as obvious as Shiki from Tsukihime's mental trauma but I still thought it was an interesting aspect of his character. I didn't get too far before my save got corrupted though, and I haven't got back round to reading it, so I might be wrong!

Green_Tea

Yeah. NTR is awesome as a genre. Actually I really like Asa, except I wish there was some jealous stabbing going on. I think I played all routes on Shuffle! except the lolicon route.

Inferno, it's not really that I just play one route. It's more I play and it gets boring so I put it on hiatus until I can gather enough interest to play again. Currently Kazoku Keikaku has been on hold for about 6 months. I put off playing most games unless I finish others, but that hasn't happened lately.

Actually I like Heaven's Feel. I'm just an absolute fan of Sakura in that route. She was kinda boring in most others, but she was great in that. UBW was the most abstract story ever, I really couldn't feel how great it was. Besides UBW fanboys are rampaging everywhere; doesn't hurt to be different.
>Speaking of which what about the movie? Anyone seen it yet?

Oh. So it was KEY. I thought there were way too many similarities. Welp, there goes my interest in playing it. But it's like Yoss here says. Good sex makes up for crappy plot, and good plot makes up for crappy sex. It's like how I like TYPE-MOON and Anime Lilith at the same time. It's not really contradictory.

Also H-vids are different. Sure the animation quality and general production quality is getting better, but it's still not at the level of eroge. Although I have my own collection of H-anime I guess; H-games are much better. The sheer amount of plot you can throw in, developing the characters and your empathy of them before completely riddling your face with NTR bullets is jus-

I went a bit off track there. Lyle, what strat games were like Rance? The closest I've played was uh...some shitty one on DS, I forgot. I like how I can conquer the world. I also like how it has a completely different second run through. Recommend me some if you can.

Green_Tea

Double post. I found this while looking at some TYPE-MOON image board a friend linked to me.

EXIT TRANCE sure is great.

Kureha

Forgive me for my ignorance but what is Exit Trance?
[url="https://ko-fi.com/chi_chan"]

Green_Tea

It's a band that arranges and does covers and stuff.

It's a lot of electronic, some nice voices and mostly trance. They have some good stuff. I just downloaded BEST THE MOVIE, though any of their BEST is worth a listen if you're into that sort of stuff. There'll at least be one song you recognize I'm sure.

They have a nice Higurashi remix somewhere.

In this album if you can find it > EXIT TRANCE PRESENTS CODE SPEED アニメトランス BEST

ANIME TRANCE BEST I suppose.

inferno_flamex

Let me guess..

They did a cover for Fate Stay Night's Emiya by chance?

And in the end.. Instead of the usual UBW Archer chant.. It was UBW Shirou's chant?
