Never got this game to work, not even on XP, so I gave up on it.

Bull was epic.

I have to agree. Never got the patch to work ever on XP either.

I feel like an oddball hearing all these problems. I did the full install, dropped in the patch, and it started right up. Not even using compatibility settings. Only thing I didn't do was replace the wwbase.exe. I'm also running it on XP Pro sp3. Think I'll have to play it a bit to see if it goes down on me, but so far so good.

I'll put up the patch I used but I don't think it's any different than the w98 one.

The same for me, i have installed it with the instructions here and i have never have a problem with it.
i have xp pro too.

I have XP Ultimate =\. Although it shouldn't be too much different, since I've been able to run all games on applocale. Just couldn't install Japanese.

I managed to get this game to work but could never get far because I couldn't figure out what to do. Is there an english walkthrough for this game (or could someone make one? I kept getting stuck on the level with the locked door on the third(?) floor where the sound is coming from.

Translate the Jap walkthrough given in earlier posts using Google translate. Its pretty much understandable.

I've almost given up trying to get this to work.

I have a couple of tests left, though.

For anyone who got this to work, what did your "translations.txt" file look like? Did it look comprehensible or just a huge mess?

Also, what is the size of your translator.dll? And the PersonalID listed in the gtconfig.ini file?
