I think we'd already know how to deal with mangagamer's drm at this point. The drm can't be cracked because the exe is encrypted (it'd be like bruteforcing a passworded rar). What we need is the decrypted exe which is extracted in a temporary folder when a legit user runs the game.
So tell that guy to download process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx)), run the game, find the real game exe and upload it.

I just want to point out that Jdownloader Portable works great on a whole list of megaupload files, even has it's own portable java built in so you don't have to install that memory leaking cpu eating pile of crap

The original crack crashes, because it opens and closes right after. But the second executable isn't a crack, it's the unencrypted executable file that needs to be cracked so that we can play. It isn't possible to play this version of Edelweiss until someone cracks it.

Someone on /jp/ took a look at that executable and he wants to know how you got the file: "How did he manage to get that? He didn't copy the hidden exe running right? This looks like a memory dump, which isnt' very useful."

I revise in taskmanager a new exe called A57E6E5D.exe its running from edelweiss folder
and i copy it in a CMD promt with the command copy

My intention was to do the same with D.capo and upload the new version with better translation and grammar fixes but if the new DRM protection of mangagamer is so strong. I think it's best not upload it.

You don't have to apologize for anything, if it's getting delayed, it's just because the usual guys who crack this stuff didn't have enough time in the last couple of days. Besides, without someone to get them access to the protected game, we wouldn't even have a crack for the first edition of Edelweiss.

All you had to do was to copy the old version of the system file and place it to the new version. The crack should work after that.

Either way, thanks a lot for this. I tried Edelweiss before and was mildly horrified by the translation quality. Hopefully they fixed it enough to not make me cringe every other line this time around.

The first version is a nightmare to read through as it's a leak and the translation was awful.
This final version is what MangaGamer is currently selling, it's been proofread and updated with better spelling, translation,grammar.

not at the moment. I haven't had time to rerun through the new version and as I deleted my old save file by accident I didn't create a torrent.

If you meant to overwrite your previous installation, I don't see any problem with it, you only need to replace the game files with the exception of your old system.arc, which you need to run this new version of the game. This way, you will also keep your save files.

That´s going to be hilarious ;D still the star of expansion is the talking dick in the Rin cenario its just out of this world Rin even ends up taking care of it and their conversations are something not be missed its funny as hell.

Erm... this "final version" still has many errors such at "Why you having hard on?". It still fails terribly.
Even with the bad translation, this is still a very good game. From time to time you will need to correct the translation in your head, or take a second or two to figure out what they mean. But i still really enjoy this game despite that.
In my opinion, both of Overdrive games Edelweiss and Kira Kira, are top tier games. I especially like the humor in them. A lot of hilarious scenes, those are quite rare in hgames.
I can't wait to see the two expansions translated. And hopefully Manga gamer will translate their third game (called deardrops?) also.
I must have done something wrong.
I downloaded the game+crack, extracted it and moved Edelweiss.exe (655360 bytes, wasn't there before) and system.arc (before:5110 bytes, after: 4969 bytes) to the game directory.
But I don't see any differences to the old translation. With "old version" I mean the recently released Edelweiss-FASiSO. I'm actually surprised that this is the old translation.
I also compared the FASiSO release with this one here:
All files are identical except BGI.exe (FASiSO: 655360 bytes, this release: 1302528 bytes) and system.arc (FASiSO: 4969 bytes, this release: 5110 bytes).
But the instructions tell me to replace both files with the old ones. So both versions are 100% identical.
I compared it using WinMerge. Left is FASiSO, right is this release.

Their later translations are much better. This is one of their first released games.
I actually don't really know anything about this company (we are talking about mangagamer, right?). But most mistakes are not excusable even if you "can't" speak english. Like "converting" sound effects to sentences.

Interesting idea, it is called BGM.exe so it's the same engine (Different version perhaps.) could work.
EDIT: Did not work, game just shuts down.
BGM is the engine for MangaGamer's higher tier releases, games on this engine needs to be cracked on a per game basis

Well.. This happenned to me too.. Althogh.. I believe i played this game before the update patch... And im assuming that the patch fixed this particular bug... (Im not sure.. i still have not updated my game so im still experiencing this minor bug myself...)
but then again.. Its not that big of a deal right?... I mean.. Even if you cannot access the scene replays... There's still save files...
So do what i do... Since you more or less know where the H-scenes are.. Just save your game on a different save page or something, just before the H-scene starts... Theres enough space for an empty save page for ALL of the H-scenes...

The whole magical small town idea is just to add to overall suspension of disbelief that the game world is our world. If magic wasn't located in a small town, then the whole world would have magic or alchemy and that would remove some of the fun in the story. Its a pretty common method of telling a story. Those stories about dinosaurs or king kong being on a undiscovered island is the same type of strategy.
MG blog just announced the Edelweiss trial v2 is out, guess we can expect the new patch/version soon
I'm actually looking forward to the new version. I had fun playing through the game...well, with the exception of Haruka's route...so I wouldn't mind going through it again with a much better translation.

I did hear that the retranslation is finished, but since I didn't hear about a release of the retranslation, I was wondering if I was missing something.
They've technically retranslated edelweiss once already, this is the second time.
One of the Overdrive guys originally translated it (MG didn't even had their own translators back then), that's why the script is in that state. The V2 involved spell checking on Word or something strenuous like that. And the V3 is probably on the lowest of priorities with all the stuff that they are editing and testing right now.
"Pulling a JAST" is called that for a reason, MG still has to do a couple more releases like Koihime Musou to get there, but they are surely working on it with all the complete fan translations that are on their hands and that don't even have any announced release date.

That would be pretty sweet, but they probably won't. They only make hard copies of games they think will sell a lot of. Though they did make hard copies of Guilty The Sin for Anime Expo, so its possible that they will make some hard copies for next year's AX.

Pq ñ usarei o Hybridweiss(ainda mais que nem sei pra que serve u.u) e quero ter esse patch por eu jah ter a versão 1.0(fora que jah tenho td de Edelweiss e soh falta esse patch) e.e
O Hybridweiss é a patch convertida para a versão 1.0, colocas ele e o crack original na pasta de Edelweiss e é só correr o crack.

Are you getting it when trying to run the game? If so, follow the instructions on the first post to the letter. I had the same problem when I applied Hybridweiss on an already patched copy.

Nope, you only need Hybridweiss and the crack, nothing else.

According to the first post, Hybridweiss does NOT work with version 2.0. If you want Hybridweiss to work, then you need to get version 1.0 and the crack thats listed in the first post. Then you can use Hybridweiss. Everybody has been using Hybridweiss instead of using a cracked version of 2.0, since a lot of people already had version 1.0 already and it was easier to use Hybridweiss.

Cudder created a patch to convert Edelweiss version 1.0 into Edelweiss version 2.0 and he named it Hybridweiss.
I couldn't get the normal ending when using Hybridweiss as it kept giving me an error message after the last choice when you 'reject' each of the girls, but when I removed Hybridweiss and used just the crack and sysprg.arc from 1.0 and a font hack it worked fine.

i ended up buying this and also got Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia as part of the bundle pack just finished playing Edelweiss now moving onto Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia

Odd that only the cracks were blocked and not the other files though.

Sorry to annoy you again but the patch version of the VN crash when I try to start a new game(not when I start the software but when I press "start i the main menu") and I get a crash window that say

All I did was to extract the 7-zip put the files from the patch into the main folder then proceed with the 2.0 crack.
Make sure you're in Japanese Locale is all I can say since I see.. messed-up characters in there, oh and even the extracting make sure you do it in Japanese Locale just so nothing mess up. I don't know otherwise, good luck.

Isn't it still v2 if you use this install instructions.
Instructions:
- Start with an unpatched Edelweiss.
- Extract Hybridweiss_rel_A.7z to the installation directory.
- Extract the original crack (Edelweiss.exe) to the installation directory.
I think it is, because the trans is far better, then it was before. For example when Natsume said Haruma the Textbox said Kazushi in v1, but with Hybridweiss it says Haruma like it should be. Same with Sakura's Harucchi.

umm..could anyone enlighten me what the difference between the Edelweiss 2.0 and the old one? i know this is an old VN, and i've played it before.. just curious whether there's something i miss..

I believe 2.0 is the revised version, better scripts, but that's just my guessing.
basically, the first version was unreadable...the new version is about MGs level now (although I think it is still below their more recent ones like Deardrops)

I hate to be That Guy, but I can't get this working. I just downloaded the newly reuploaded links (thanks Mana!), and here are the exact steps I did:
Extracted the game (into D:\Games\H\Edelweiss, if it matters) with 7zip (which I used for the patch and crack extraction as well).
Extracted the patch into the same directory, overwriting all duplicate files when prompted.
Extracted the crack into the same directory, again overwriting the one duplicate file (sysprg.arc) when prompted.
Ran "edelweiss_v2.exe" and hit Start on the main menu.
But then I am presented with the following error:

Message : 未定義の命令コード [ $00EE ] が検出されました
I'm running Windows 7 x64 professional, non-Unicode language set to Japanese, and Formats set to Japanese.
Does anyone know what's going wrong here?
I never actually tested crack 2.0 until now and I got the same error. So I'll just reupload Hybridweiss, which is the conversion of the patch for the original crack.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reupload this. I had the files downloaded a while back, but lost them when my harddrive shat itself. Time to redownload this game and it a whirl!
