Description
In this society, those who commit a crime owe a "special obligation" and "special high class people" exist to guide the criminals to rehabilitation. On his way to becoming a "special high class person", Morita Keniichi returns to his hometown in order to complete his final exam. There he meets three girls bearing the obligations "each day has only 12 hours", "cannot become an adult", and "cannot fall in love".

I am sorry to bother you kureha, but may i ask what this is exactly? For what i have been able to understand, this game is under fan translation and so far only chapter 1 is translated? I am right or wrong?

It's a preview patch from the translators, only chapter 1 is translated

It might be worth noting that according to the thread on /jp/ that while the teaser patch is only up to Chapter 1, they've translated 50% so far.

they also said that no more teaser patches will be made, officially.

I don't know when you read that, but their wiki page has posted a patch for chapter 2, also mentions a release of chapter 3 soon.

your regional settings aren't set to japanese, I should also point out that attachments are members only.

the other games run fine because they don't use the same engine that Sharin uses, that engine is a bit picky when it comes to regional and unicode settings, remember to install japanese language packs

All those games you list are from Manga Gamer. So they are official english release which don't need Japanese locale. However, Japanese games (with or without fan-translation patch) will need that.

If you never run Japanese games before, i suggest you download the Tail Tale translated game. The translator included a very detailed instructions on how to use AppLocale.

Please help. I downloaded and extracted the game. now i have syarin.iso, syarin.mds, and the no dvd patch files. How do i install the game? i tried using daemon tools with both iso and mds files but i cant install this at all. Plus i have it in japanese regional.

for the fandisk is there gona be a patch for the other routes(the omakes) later.they only finished the Hozuki route

The Sunflower devs stated months ago that they won't do anything else, which was repeated on the release of the Hozuki route.

thanks. but bit unhappy i guess.this is my most favourite game but having Japanese game doesn't do much good for those who cannot read Japanese. i was really hoping for more from this story. this fan disk looked more like after story for all the girls.

I'm having the same problem as an earlier poster. I mounted both the .mds and .iso file but no window came up to install it. I even went to my computer and clicked on my dvd drive, there was no icon and I couldn't access setup either. I'm on Japanese locale as well. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

*Edit* Nevermind, I just had to wait very long before setup would appear/.

The thread as a whole relates to a visual novel, the specific discussion that you mention relates to that same visual novel's fandisc and both of it's translation projects. Then there is a white knight who came right out of nowhere to defend someone with who I was just messing with and who didn't ask for anyone's help.

Well, this thread is the physical manifestation of a discussion on Sharin no Kuni - that much is correct. The discussion I mentioned relates to the fandisk, as you noted, but only pertained to the one translation project - the second translation project was noted as part of a post several months after the discussion proper (the post that spawned this bizarre discourse), so that shouldn't be considered part of the conversation. In fact, that was the primary motivating factor in my initial post: I was being snide (and, admittedly, somewhat unfair) towards laplacian's decision to quote your much older post on the status of translation. With that in mind, I'm not white-knighting anyone - it'd be pointless to needlessly protect someone in the same line that I call their stance silly.

My intent with the "differentiate..." line was to clarify my original intent succinctly (in order to minimize how pretentious I sound) and in a rude manner (as you are being recklessly hostile). It wasn't to reword your misplaced insult. To be honest, I find it highly unlikely that my level of English comprehension is at fault for this ridiculous affair, and I find it odd that you are bringing it up, on multiple occasions, in the same posts that you misinterpret what I am attempting to say, without basis. If you want to continue to contribute to the frivolous diversion, feel free. I would, however, ask that you bring it into a system of private messages, as no one else needs to see this shameful display.
