The anime covered volumes 1-7, but it skipped volume 5.
I suggest you start at vol.5, then vol.8 and so on.
Volume 5 was one of my favorites. It shows them out of the school setting!
I liked his whole badass wtfpwn style in the anime, so refreshing compared to the gimpy stuff we suffer through in bleach and naruto.

TBH I don't have any good experience downloading stuff on mobile when I use those ad-links. which is why I download on my pc, and upload to my nas and the LN I read ends up on onedrive for easier access.

Though I agree that there are indeed certain charms to sticking with the original honorifics...
It'd just be plain old weird if "Westerners" (or any race/nationality at that) were to be spewing off words such as "Onii-sama"..
But then again.. sometimes it just feels weird when you read "Big brother" instead of "Onii-sama"..
At least they should have used Big Brother, like JNC did in "My Big Sister..." LN series.

edit: I read part of the first volume in the set. It's readable, but the story flow and grammar is not done well. If you can't wait, you can try to read it, but I don't recommend it, it really ruin the story telling.

Considering the huge timeleap in the story between S1 and the movie (which simply jumped god knows how many volumes at once, introducing things like STARS and all when S1 ended up with the Yokohama event... meh)... I just can't imagine a S2. At most you might see another promotional movie... A serious S2 ? Where would it start/end ? Just between S1/movie there's already a large gap enough to fill a S2. Place it after that around the tomes 12 - 16 to reach the inheritance arc ? How much of the story are you willing to sacrify ? :C
It's sad indeed that there never was a true S2 back in the days considering how refreshing it was to finally have a true MC with a very developed story and side-characters that weren't completely one-faced (though Miyuki is kinda always in bro-con mode but she can also shows some much more serious and mature sides at time...).

As far as I know, it's still ongoing. Probably simultaneous Vol. 19 and 20. It's just
very very slow. Optimistically, we could get it before Christmas 2018. Still enough to keep me faithful to the series and its translators though! For the accurate pseudo-scientific, action-packed details!

The MTL'd volumes are done with the summaries for the respective volumes on the mahouka wikia and are not just done based on the MTL editor's imagination. So they are more or less fine to read if you want a understanding of the situation and some of the dialogue. Yen press will take about 3 years to reach vol. 20+ LNs.. so i don't think your advice is the most sound.
If one is impatient then he/she may read the MTL'd volumes since they take the wikia summary as its reference.

It's a MTL of MTL (Japanese > MTL Russian > MTL English). So it's trash^2. But it's in the upper stratum of MTLs quality wise, if it helps any.

I bet I'll become fossilized by the time vol 32 comes out. I've forgotten most of the story already sigh. Vol 19-23 mtl fried my brain. Idk if I have the patience to re read so many volumes again. (no time student life sucks)
